Chillin' with Magic Friends!

Hi! Sorry I did not say hello before. I had like a 30 second window in which I could get on the site while my boss was not standing here so I hurried in to ask the question! LOL.

I am doing well. How are you?

Me either, I had never heard of them. It doesn't really matter right? I mean I have just as much chance of dying on one that I have heard of then one I haven't right?
Please reassure me! LOL

Katy, Airtran flies out of Akron all the time - they have a pretty good rep, I think. I've never flown with them, but my friend here has flown with them twice to Disney and had no problems. Hope this helps!

I chose the cheapest seat available, and it says something on the page about advance seating is available for a fee, or you can do it for free upon check in to see where you sit.
It was not those exact words but something like that, I already closed the page.
Is this one of those airlines where you can't sit together and whoever checks in first gets the seats together? Or does it just mean if I want to know exactly where I am sitting ahead of time I can pay a fee to find out?

Doing good on this end at this point in time.

 I am laughing at what you say about dying on a flight. That is why I don't fly.:lookaroun I know the odds but....

I remember hearing once that's why you sit in the back of plane. You never hear of a plane backing into a mountain. :p :D
Still, I completely understand about the fear of flying. DH has no interest in leaving terra firma...hence the two day car trip to Orlando this June.

LOL, I just get nervous about this stuff.

Yay! :sohappy:

I've heard of them before, just never flown on them.
I guess so. But remember, you're actually in more danger during the car ride to the airport then you are in the air.

I guess that is true, but man when that plane starts shaking I think, "well, this is it!"

Ok good to know. I've only flown twice in my life, and the second time was the only time I was actually aware of what airline I was using and it was Spirit. So me not hearing of AirTran may not mean anything since I rarely fly.

True - I think four airline tickets, even with SW, would cost more than the gasoline for the whole trip...add a couple of hotel stays and we're about breaking even. So why not do what makes my hubby less stressed.

Yay!! My internet at home seems to be working! :sohappy:

You guys can see me, right? :lookaroun

Hi Kristin!

OT: Has anyone ever eaten at a Chi-chi's? Because I found Chi-chi's chimichangas in the frozen foods at the grocery today and now I'm eating them for lunch. :slurp::slurp:

I can see you! And I am glad you are here.

Ever flown with AirTran? I found a flight with them that is much cheaper then what I was going to go with.
What do you think? And if I wait more maybe it will get cheaper?

Hello, Katy, Susie and Jenny!

Katy, I have never personally flown Airtran, but I know several people who have. They are a big airline out of Boston. They are on par with SW or Jetblue. No frills, but nothing bad. Is the fare less than what you were going to pay through expedia?

Well when I was on Expedia last week I was going to choose I think a departure through NW and a return through Delta. It was 225 per person. That was much cheaper then I had seen thus far. I did not see any AirTran at that time.
I just checked expedia today and AirTran was all over, so I am guessing they just added flights. On Expedia for the four of us it was 194 a person. I thought that is much better.
So I went on AirTran's site and checked the same exact flight from expedia and it was 189 per person. Even better. Now I am wondering if I should wait a while and see if it goes down more.
Also one more question. On airtrans site to get the cheapest flight there was discount coach or regular coach. I chose discount coach. Now I am trying to figure out exactly the difference. Am I not going to get to sit with my family do you think?

Sorry for all the questions.

This is what it said. What does this mean?

Advance seat assignment is available for a small fee, or you may select your seats upon check-in at no cost.
