Good morning Katy - feeling better today?

Hello! I'm doing ok today but just a little tired.

You guys are not going to believe this one. Last night, DD was complaining that her foot hurt. I thought she was making it up b/c her brother had gone to the doctor for his ear, and she was jealous. She was limping around, and started crying that it hurt. Both DH and I thought she was full of it. Then this morning when she woke up, she wouldn't stand up. She won't walk. Any weight bearing hurts. If she has a fracture, I'm going to . We have to take her to doctor at 10:20, then we'll go to the hospital for an XRay.

I feel like such a jerk for not believing her. When I asked her how she hurt it, she said after their bath yesterday afternoon she twisted it. I must've still been in the bathroom b/c I didn't see her do anything.

Does it ever end??? :(

Aww don't feel bad. I can't even count everytime I told my mom I didn't feel good to get out of stuff or get special treatment. And I was a good kid! It was right of you to be a little suspicious. The important thing is you are taking her to get it looked at today and hopefully everything will be fine. Maybe it was just a twist and nothing too bad.

Welcome to parenthood Kristin - we've all made mistakes. You'll laugh about it eventually!

The guilts of motherhood!
Once, when Stacey was about 8, we went out for trick-or-treat on Halloween, which is her birthday, as well. She was wearing a costume with a mask that completely covered her head. Over the course of the evening, she started to complain that she was hot (it was chilly outside). Since we were all having such a good time, I just kept telling her to hang on, we'd be going home soon. Well, when we finally did go home, I pulled the mask off her head to find her drenched in sweat and burning with fever. I felt like the worse mom ever! Of course, she didn't tell me she wasn't feeling well, but where were my instincts??? She still doesn't let me forget that one!

Yes, but this is my second big mistake with her! When she was 14 months old and learning to walk, she was falling everywhere. We have tile in our kitchen, and one day she fell particularly hard (onto her hands) and was holding her wrist afterwards. I looked at it and thought it was fine. She was using the hand to feed herself, etc, but would still hold it if she fell. So after 2-3 days, I finally took her to the doctor, and..... her arm was broken!!! I guess I didn't learn...

Thanks, Katy! It's the part about her not wanting to weight bear that makes me nervous. That's not a good sign. :(

I hope you feel better soon. I'll come back on later and let you guys know how it works out.

Quick good morning!

Trying to get some wedding planning done during my downtime this morning. We go to Nebraska 2 weeks from tomorrow for our last planning trip! :dazzle::sohappy:
But, we have ZERO appointments set up, so I've chained myself to The Knot to research vendors. Hope everyone has a nice morning, love you!:kiss:

My gosh, it's like I don't work! My parents told me not to come into work today b/c there's supposed to be this big snow storm hit later and they don't want me driving in it. So, snow day for me!

Hello everyone!

Kristin - these things happen...with Ab, when she about two, she went through this period of going limp when she didn't want to do something and so when Mike went to assist her, she twisted her body and her elbow at the same time :dazzle:. Needless to say we were living in fear that the ER was going to think we had hurt her on purpose :brick:. And of course there was the time with Joel when he was running back and forth (stimming), and hit the top of his right foot on the corner of the wall. Didn't break it, but had a bad bone bruise and wore a cast for 6 weeks. So, we've all been there hon - don't feel bad.:kiss:

Hi Nibbs - yay for a snow day! I think that storm is supposed to head our way later, getting all area teachers and students excited.
