Hmmm....the food is not 5 star by any means, but it's not horrible either. I would probably go but it wouldn't be one of my places that I come back to every time.
We're almost to the point that we prefer NOT to dine with the characters. Isn't that just insanity for us?! LOL!
At the current price I won't eat Chef Mickey's at all. Not even with the TiW discount. I think they're being opportunistic and it's not worth the cost.
If the price was equal to say the Crystal Palace I **might** eat breakfast there just to have the Goofy's breakfast pizza/lasagna whatever that chunk o'heaven is. That's the stuff I craaaaave. I don't dare try making it with the recipe because there's too many ingredients some of which I don't even know what they are. So I just dream of the stuff but remain steadfast that Chef Mickey can take his overpriced chaotic yummy breakfast and take a flyin' leap.
I happen to really like their breakfast but because there are so many other great places to eat I probably wouldn't go there without the characters. I do love going and eating with the characters though. Makes me feel like a little kid and it's great!
Nope......not with us. Yes it is over priced and while the food is not horrible, it's definitely not good enough to return without the entertainment value of the characters IMO.
We wouldn't. We only go for our son to have that character interaction. Once he is old enough to not care about it anymore we will stop going. Food is just ok. However thier smoked tomoato bisque was outstanding. I had 3 bowls of that.
We would go with or without the characters. While we would miss them we love the place so it wouldn't really matter that much. It's our favorite way to start our first official day in WDW.
Day 1:
DTD (no parks) Day 2:
Chef Mickey's at 7:30am
Then off to MK
Ride all of the rides we can before the crowds hit
Then lunch at Casey's Corner
Shop and ride
Shop some more
Dinner at Cosmic Ray's
Shop and ride some more
Parade and wishes
Its bad enough to go with the characters, so with out them its an even bigger no. Our last trip in July sealed the deal, unless there is a major change we will not be going back. While the food isnt bad, the cost to quality ratio is severely lopsided. They are truly banking on the idea of everyone wants to dine with Mickey and his pals so why put any real effort into it.
nope i hesitate with the characters. not one of my favorites, but the kids love it. if thats where they want to go, then then i'm more than happy to eat there.
Absolutely not! IMHO the food was awful and we felt rushed from the minute we walked in the door. Last year even my kids were so disappointed we've decided not to go again in April. I love seeing the fab 5 but CM is not worth it.
It would depend on the price without characters. Right now the prices is past outrageous for the quality of their food. It's over $30 for a meal the quality of $6 or $7 dollars at IHOP or Denny's. Unfortunately, I have a special needs son who cannot comprehend monetary value and Chef Mickey's is a must do for him. The smiles those characters put on his face are unmatched by any other meal, so I will continue to go there. Take out the characters and the chances are slim.
