Checking in early at SOG?

We are staying at the Shades of Green for our long weekend trip in Sept. Our flight arrives at MCO at 9:30 so I figure we would be at the hotel by 11 AM.

They say checkin isn't until 3:00, but is it like other Disney resorts that you can 'check in' and leave your bags at the desk and go hit the parks and come back to your room and have your bags there? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What we have done if we arrive early before check in time and the rooms are not ready, the hotel will 'hold' your luggage for you while you go to the parks- then when your room is ready, the hotel will place your luggage in the room for you. All you have to do when you get back is check in!

When I was there last year and flew the Magical Express dropped us off and our luggage was scheduled to arrive about 3 hours later. A bus will bring the luggage later and your resort will take it to your room. So hopefully you can hit the parks and when you came back later that evening your luggage would be ready waiting for ya!

I thought DME didn't go to Shades of Green?

We've checked in early to different resorts before...I'm sure SOG is no different.
But it all depends on the availability of clean rooms when you try to check in. You'll probably have a better chance at like 12 or 1. Good luck!

We were at SOG in October, arrived at about noon. We checked in, changed clothes (arriving from ND), checked our bags with the bell captain and hit the parks! When we went back to SOG, we picked up our keys, and they delivered our bags. Easy! Have a great time, I wish I was you!

The previous posters are correct. We have stayed at Shades of Green many times. Most times our room(s) have not been ready when we arrived, but once or twice they have been ready. Go expecting them NOT to be ready, so that if they are ready you will be surprised. They do have a place to hold your luggage. Magic Express does not go there. My husband and I have used Mears before, but last time we took a car from Quicksilver and it is definitely our transportation of choice between MCO and Shades of Green. Prompt, courteous service. Just wanted to pass that along in case you have not made transportation arrangements yet. Our next trip there is early June. Have fun!

We used Mears once too. Our car company of choice is now Sunray Transportation. Like the previous poster said, if you haven't made your transportation plans.
