The productions design looked good, and Johnny Depp looks like he'll do a good job, but that music was scary! Really, but it looks interesting. It seems kind of closer to the books.

Figment1986, Danny Elfman has done the scores for all of Burtons full length films except for Ed Wood.

I'm excited about the Corpse Bride too. Two Burton/Depp flicks in one year!!! Helena Bonham Carter is in both as well. :sohappy:

*sigh* well, I was expecting something much different than that. I too was hoping for something totally opposite of the original (though I do love the original). This will certainly be different from Gene Wilder's version, but not the way I thought. When I heard Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, and Johnny Depp were invovled, I had an Edward Scissorhands kind of image...ya know, all gothic and creepy-like (and I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought that). And what did they do to Johnny? I was hoping for a hot Willie Wonka...he's just creepy though. It looks like they gave him different teeth and made his eyebrows thicker, and that combined with the feminine hair and pale make-up...geez. But it's still Johnny, so I guess that's ok. I didn't think much of him in the PotC trailers either, but then I saw the movie :slurp:
Of course, I'll wait to pass my final judgement on the movie...just hope it's better than that preview.

It seems to be more like Tim Burton's "It's a Small World."

The movie actually looks good, but the preview was just flat-out creepy. I'm sure people who wandered aimlessly into the movie because they saw "Johnny Depp" in the credits will wonder who slipped the LSD into their cheeseburger during dinner. A fun romp, to be sure. Just don't watch any of the other Burrton movies right before this one, or you will find yourself in a padded room soon enough.

Now there's concept for a movie that could be REALLY interesting. Tim Burton's "It's a Small World." It will make any decent therapist pull the emergency cord.

Thanks! I remember hearing a couple weeks ago that Disney was working on a high profile project, and when this came up, I thought it was the one I was thinking of.

When you corrected me, I tried to remember what it was, and then I remembered it was the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! How cool will that be for Disney (if they do it right)?

As a big fan of the books, I'm VERY excited for that movie. Almost as excited as I am for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (I'm not too impressed by the trailer, but I wasn't very impressed with the trailer for Finding Nemo either )
