We caught the end of the Family Fun Parade, and I everyone was calling out for Daisy and a few other characters. I yelled, "Hi Horace" and he starting jumping up and down and waving.

Then my Mom looked at me, and asked who he is was. Then a few other people asked me, too. It was funny, but super cool!

I had a similar experience when I got my photo with Horace and Clarabelle. I greeted them by name and they got so excited. Everyone else in line was just there because they were characters and they felt the need to get a photo. The kids would leave the line and stare at their autograph books trying to figure out who they just saw. :brick: But I was thrilled to see them out, being the huge animation fan that I am. Plus they loved my retro Epcot shirt. :)

Clarice gets the same treatment, and unfortunately I haven't seen her out in forever. I hope she hasn't been removed due to the lack of guest knowledge.

It's very disheartening that no one even cares to find out his name, and Disney animation isn't helping by showing Clarabelle and Goofy dating. Honestly, it is really freaking confusing.

I understand what you are saying. I was in line for a picture with Uncle Scrooge at MVMCP. Everyone kept calling him Donald. One person was told it was Uncle Scrooge, she responded with:

"Oh well, doesn't matter, we will just tell everyone it is Donald. They won't know the difference."

I am still confused about that one.

It really disheartened me as just a fan. I can only imagine how I would feel if I was a friend of one of the characters which do not get the recognition they deserve.

That's why they need to bring Ducktales back!

...and Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers

...and Tailspin, for that matter.

I don't get the perspective of guests sometimes. If you don't know who a character is, why do you bother waiting in line? What's even better is when they get really mad that the character is going in for a couple minutes, and they get so mad. However, i'm sure if they were asked to name one Cartoon that Horace or Clarabelle are in, they'd have no clue.

Oh and my favorite, grown adults approaching Horace or Clarabelle and asking, "Who are you? Whisper it in my ear! I won't say anything!" Do they think the characters are stupid?

Tinkerbell's movie is STILL being made. The misunderstanding was that the movie was CRAP, originally, which is why the date has been moved around so much. when John Lasseter got a hold of it he said it was terrible and scrapped the idea. He then created a new script and storyline and everything, and they're making the movie. It'll be ready for release sometime Late Summer to Mid-Fall. Tinkerbell and her Fairy Friends will be making Meet and Greet Appearances starting either in Late fall or sometime in December.

Most of the fairies have already been fitted and cast, and unless you're in Entertainment, you wouldn't know how Entertainment feels about Tinkerbell and what's going on with her story and her doing meet and greets. Entertainment is very excited for Tinkerbell, and her story is expanded more.

Tinkerbell is "the loser fairy" as we like to joke. Fawn, Iridessa, Silvermist, and Rosetta all have real fairy qualities; Nature, Light, Water, and Beauty. Tinkerbell, however, is a Tinker Fairy. She fixes pots and pans and things. So, for this, she is made fun of by the other fairies (mostly Fawn). Though they are still her friends, they have their moments. Tinkerbell is very kind, but she is misunderstood and can get very temperamental and jealous because no one pays much attention to her. The only person she trusts more than anyone is Peter Pan, whom she is best friends with. So, naturally, when Wendy popped in, Tinkerbell thought her thunder was being stolen and she would stop at nothing to make sure she remained number 1 in Peter's life. He's all she's got as far as she's concerned. But we learn, (through some Disney magic and storytelling) that no matter who you are, you are special in your own way, and no one can take that away from you.

I think Tinkerbell is a great character and she'll be great to meet.

I personally would love a Tinkerbell and pals Meet and Greet... especially if they do it like some people have been saying with the "shrinking down to their size" area. My question is would it be the "new" faries with Tink or the faries from the books? I kinda feel cheated that the faries from the books were so suddenly replaced... but thats marketing for you.

Also, not to divert our attention from the character meet and greet aspect of this thread :lookaroun but for anyone who was interested you can preorder "Tinkerbell" through the disney store.... it comes out in October.
