Character breakfast-which one?

Looking into doing a character breakfast w/ my two daughters (4 yrs and 20 months). Been to Chef Mickey's numerous times so looking for something different.

We are staying at the Polynesian, so I'm looking at Ohana's with Stitch, Lilo, Mickey and Pluto or 1900 Fare's Supercalfr.... breakfast w/ Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, The Madhatter .

The characters are not the deciding factor. I want to know which has the better food and entertainment (Do the characters do anything with the kids other than sign autographs and take pictures, etc.)

We like Breakfast with Pooh and the gang at Crystal Palce.
If you book any early sitting (8-830) you don't waste the whole day and you get into the park earlier than most guest which will let you get some great pictures on Main St and in front of the Castle.:zipit: that should be kept a secret!!!! The characters will all meet your kids and it's usually Pooh, Tigger, Eyeore, and Piglet (may change) They also have the kids get up and parade around the restraunt with the characters every so often (maybe every 30 min or so). Food is good too and it's a nice way to start the day.
We have also done Breakfast with Stitch and Lilo my DS is a Stitch fan so he really likes this one. Also the food it good and it would be convient if your staying at the Poly. Characters when we were there : Mickey, Lilo, Stitch and Pluto. The kids got to parade around at this spot too.
Hope that helps.

Thanks mickkey.

I have already made reservations for Crystal Palace on another day (early reservation!). It's my DH favorite place to go.

Since we have one day in which we won't be visiting a park, I was looking for a character breakfast outside the parks.

We enjoyed 1900 PF when we tried it for the first time over New Year - Face characters have some interaction and stop and chat - nothing else though.

CP is probably the best for "something other than autographs" when they periodically go marching around the place

If you like the character selection at Ohana, then stick with your own resort. It will make it much easier to get there and go about your day. I think the Tusker House is a nice choice as well if you are looking in the parks.

It would probably be easier to stay at your own resort for breakfast. It would certainly be easier, but the GF is on the monorail line for you so it wouldn't be too bad.

We actually liked the character interaction at the GF breakfast better. The mad hatter is really funny. I think you can get a bit more interaction sometimes with the face characters. It probably didn't help that on the day we visited Ohanas we had to wait over an hour to see Mickey and Stitch. We were long done with our meal and just sitting there waiting. That can happen anywhere though.

I guess it's just up to your own preference and your schedule.

We had breakfast at Ohana when we were there in December and I have to say - it was the BEST character breakfast. I liked it better than Crystal Palace and that is a great one too. I liked that we didn't have to get up and deal with a crowd at the buffet while keeping an eye out for characters and the food was really good - especially the bread and juice. I also liked that it is pretty roomy. The character interaction was fantastic. My son, who is 4, didn't really know who stitch was when we went, but he walked out a big fan. They were wonderful. They have the kids maraca's and other instruments during the parade and the whole family gets lays when you check in too, which I thought was cute. It was a really great experience for us and it would be hard for me to skip it in the future.

We did the Tusker House @ the Animal Kingdom and it was great. The only bad thing is it took the characters about an hour to get around to you. One character at a time takes a 15 minute break every 45 minutes. They do advise you on this as you are being seated. There were also a lot of choices food wise too!

Absolutely try Donald's Breakfast Safari at the tusker house in AK. Out of all of them I would rate it the best. Second would be a tie between Chef Mickey's and 1900 Park Fare.

Hands down, the best food is at 1900 Park Fare (can't beat the omelet station and Strawberry Soup). Ohana has good food too since it's delivered to your table and not sitting on the buffet forever. Also because of this it's more relaxing especially with small kids since you don't have to get up from your table and risk missing characters.

I love 1900 Park Fare! Cape May is also very very good - great character interaction - if you are looking for another Resort based breakfast. If in the parks - i'm a Crystal Palace fan. :slurp:

Character breakfast suggestion

I'll throw in my two cents and say either the O'hana or the Donald Breakfastasaurus at Tusker House in AK.
The character interaction is really good at O'hana and the kids can work off some early morning energy--it's a good video moment when they march around the room. The food is satisfying and it is nice to have it brought to your table.
The breakfast at Tusker house was also good with a large selection. It does take more time for the characters to come through and there is no activity like at O'hana. I think the wait staff at O'hana was a bit better than at Tusker but that may have just been at that moment.

Tusker House is great! The characters don't rush and there's a music break where the characters dance and they bring out African instruments for the kids to play in a conga line/parade. There are also a lot of food choices, it's my picky eater's favorite.

The food at 1900 Park Fare is wonderful (much better than Chef Mickey's), and the Mad Hatter is a TON of fun to interact with. That would be my choice, plus it's an easy monorail ride away from your resort.

If it is a weekend then the Garden Grove Cafe at the Swan is great. Good food, quieter, which means more interaction. The characters were Chip and Dale, Goofy and Pluto the last time I was there. :)
