Castle Suite News....fact or rumor?

I come here today with some scoop on the Cinderella Castle Suite. If I didn't know JP so well, I would be more likely to disbelieve this story, but here goes......

You know, we all talk about how cool it would be to stay in the castle suite, well, saying it's just a suite would be incorrect. It's suites....yes, there is more than one!

I just got back from my local TDS. There is a long term Disney CM there, named JP, that was invited to a special CM event at WDW recently. There were maybe 100 folks that attended, some were CM's and others were guests of theirs. WDW provided a huge buffet meal outside of the Castle, a special fireworks show, and free rooms to all who attended. Well, my CM friend was one of the lucky ones in the group that got to stay at Cinderella's Castle.

He said that there is actually a total of 12 Cinderella Castle Suites. The suite that is shown in the tv commercial is the largest of them all. It also is the only one with a king bed and has a separate room for the kiddos to sleep in. This is the suite that they try to use primarily for the guest that is chosen everyday to stay at the castle, however, he did say that it's possible that they will choose more than one family a day to stay at the castle, but that only one family will actually be given the whole Grand Marshall big event treatment. This explains my nagging wonderings about why the pictures that I have seen posted on the net of the suites differ from what you see in that commercial.

JP was talking so fast about this stuff that I should have just taken notes, but he said that their are either 4 or 8 suites in the upstairs part of the castle and the remaining 8 or 4 suites are actually on the Utilidor level. All the suites are actually decorated alike. They all have stained glass. They installed lighting to make the interior rooms have lighting that looks like the daylight and night time ambient light from outside.

He said that he felt like a Princess and was thrilled to have been so spoiled. He said that the suites will be heavily used by Make-A-Wish once the promotion is over, but that some kids were already being spoiled with castle stays.

I just thought that I would share what he told me. Feel free to discuss. lol Maggie

if I had to guess, I'd say JP was pulling your leg...the current suite is just in an area that was originally set aside as an apartment for Walt, so I doubt there is much extra room elsewhere...

Sorry. but your friend lied... There is only 1 suite in the castle... And only 1 family a day gets to win... The only way a second family is picked is if the first family refuses the stay.... You been trusting JP for a while now? I wonder how many other lies he told you...

He either lied or was really misinformed. Trust me; there is no room up there for 2 suites, let alone 4 or 8.

As for suites in the Utilidors....

It's a conspiracy!!! :lookaroun

That would explain the armed guards outside your door and the reason all the windows are stained glass! :lookaroun

While in the suite overnight, the guests have access to a Concierge Service at any time. As I understand it, they can leave the castle under escort, but none of the rides are available and all they'd see would be clean-up crews and repair workers...

They can tour the park with a guide for an hour or two after the park closes. After that they go to the room and have a concierge on call until the morning. The concierge will get them what they need and take them outside if they need something like a smoking break!

O.K. Lets get this over with Walt was long gone when planning for the park really got into high gear. The apartment was supposed to be for the Disney family more so Roy at that time. But just like how Walt never lived to see his "new" apartment finished here at DL, Roy didn't live to see the one done at MK. Both were there in space just not done.

As far as 12 suites.....Yeah JP is full of :zipit: . TDS (I am guessing Disney Store) people have NOTHING to do with Disney anymore so I would not put much faith in him. Next time you should ask him what they do when a storm is near the parks?!?!?

Nothing to see apart from fire hose wet downs, painting, and very un-turn-of-the-century vehicles and cherry pickers that are way too big for the forced perspective.
