You think a lead leads the parking team operation ? Can’t help you with that one .Since you’re such an esteemed leader why don’t you explain to us how a Lead takes responsibility and makes something like parking easier?

Genuine question. How is parking at Universal? SeaWorld? I mean it's one thing for parking at the PF gym I assume there you're just going to park in a lot directly in front and walk in.Since you’re such an esteemed leader why don’t you explain to us how a Lead takes responsibility and makes something like parking easier?
Universal TM parking is on the first floor of one of the garages and entry is through CW and there is a much larger lot at the back of house behind the Studios with a garage and open lot. Access is from Turkey Lake, your assignment determines where you park. Either option is much closer than at Disney World to your work areaGenuine question. How is parking at Universal? SeaWorld? Well that's a little bit of an odd comparison. Is it not?
Anyone here work in the Universal or SeaWorld parks? Where do they park. Do they walk a little bit before they get into the park? I'm just curious. I've always assumed that part's been kind of the same, so I'm surprised that it's such a hot button. But it must be the case that Universal and SeaWorld have vastly superior parking situations? I guess I just didn't realize that and none of this is sarcasm. I'm genuinely wondering now.

Yes, the public facing garages. Those work out front so it's not really a hike and remember they have slidewalks! Thanks Joe.
I appreciate the information. I don't know though. Parking in the universal parking garages that we park in? That can't possibly be closer than DHS studio cast parking or animal Kingdom parking. And depending on where you're working, Epcot parking. Mk parking for cast is a hassle that's for sure. But that's also true for guests. Mk is just a fricken hassle to get too for all!!!
Thanks Joe.

My memory is they they were sued and lost so they do pay for time. Maybe they moved the clock? Westclock? The team members that park there are generally the ones working at City Walk. Most team members park in the back off of Turkey Lake Road where there’s the garage and an open lot.
Does Disney pay cast members for “walk time”? Genuinely asking. I know Universal does, and I believe gives a 7 minute grace period, unless that’s changed.
That very well could be. I don’t have any recollection of it, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. I’m sure someone else here knows more.My memory is they they were sued and lost so they do pay for time. Maybe they moved the clock? Westclock?
Magic Kingdom cast get walk time, but no where else.My memory is they they were sued and lost so they do pay for time. Maybe they moved the clock? Westclock?
Makes senseMagic Kingdom cast get walk time, but no where else.
I know. I am a universal AP. It's still far. And you have to walk the city walk to get to the park. I much prefer SeaWorld, Hollywood studios, animal Kingdom, and Epcot. Park and walk in.Yes, the public facing garages. Those work out front so it's not really a hike and remember they have slidewalks!
At Magic Kingdom yes. At other locations no.The team members that park there are generally the ones working at City Walk. Most team members park in the back off of Turkey Lake Road where there’s the garage and an open lot.

Makes sense for housekeeping. If the rooms are cleaned faster then we won't possibly have to wait past 3pm to check into our room.At Magic Kingdom yes. At other locations no.
And honestly I'm not sure if Magic Kingdom is still doing it, but I think I've heard that they do.
Edit: per other responses mk still does
Housekeeping has this unusual thing where if the housekeeper has completed What is considered a full assignment for the day, They may leave 45 minutes prior to the end of their shift and still be paid to the scheduled end of the shift.
Sea World staff each got a free case of beer in Dec when Busch was a sponsor and had a sample testing center in the park at Sea World back in the day. That very well could be. I don’t have any recollection of it, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. I’m sure someone else here knows more.
Apropos of nothing, I once dated someone who worked at Universal and had previously worked at Disney. They very much appreciated that Universal paid for the “walk time.” They also got a free turkey at Thanksgiving, which I just randomly remembered.
Smart layout in having to walk through City walk to get to the park. The merchants are ready to take more of your money. In Vegas, in some hotels you have to walk through the casino to get to the front desk to check in. Those one arm bandits are waiting for you.I know. I am a universal AP. It's still far. That leader is a leader for a reason. He or she is not there to punch a time clock and just do what he or she is told. That manager is there to motivate, train, retrain , educate and build their teams to be successful. If casting is giving the leader the staffing then the leader is there to build their teams. Just like in the military you don't hire your platoon, your platoon is given to you and it is your job to lead them. The feedback of poor cast morale falls under the leaders that are leading them. The blame game towards casting that hires the new staff is just a bunch of excuses.
Then the Planet Fitness gym staff must be in worse shape starting at $10 per hour as opposed to CMs in housekeeping starting at $17 per hour.
Seems like you think the sky is falling with cast and mgt. Parks and resorts will continue and we will regularly be enjoying our visits.Managers can’t be burnt out? Management can’t feel exasperated?
Jessus I hope you don’t run a company.
Quick, throw out a completely random fact or post something about another company that’s completely unrelated to the topic. It may make more sense.Seems like you think the sky is falling with cast and mgt. Parks and resorts will continue and we will regularly be enjoying our visits.
