If their team are barely making ends meet and don’t get any perks that make it seem worthwhile to keep working there, no leader can do much to boost morale.
Add in the shortage of CMs so that everyone in the team feels overworked.
Or do you think a daily team pep talk and group hug is sufficient?
Group hugs? I don't even fist bump unless I'm getting 6 figures.

Well they really have to, and I would say they aren't trying anywhere near hard enough.

Cast morale is at an all time low, cast are leaving at a rate unseen before, and recruiting new cast is almost impossible. As explained to me by a leader, the casting process is now something like this...

1. they have a pulse
2. have a car to get to the location
3. hired

Sounds like my employer.

Then the Planet Fitness gym staff must be in worse shape starting at $10 per hour as opposed to CMs in housekeeping starting at $17 per hour.

I would not want to buy parts from that factory but then again Ford dealers have been out of stock on oil filters for a GT350 for over a year.

You become a leader to make a difference to build your teams. Resources such as?
There are very few leaders at WDW who are genuinely in the role to lead their Cast Members to success. Most of them are vile, bitter, and power hungry creatures whose sole purpose is to make the lives of every one they "lead" miserable.

And you have evidence to back up your opinion ?

Three years as both a frontline CM and a coordinator. I saw the evilness first hand.
I have to disagree as far as bus ops was concerned. Now bus ops is a totally different animal compared to park ops as a leader is hub based and drivers can move from hub to hub. I have to say that I only had a couple of leaders that tried to make life miserable. The majority of leaders really tried hard to be good leaders.

I know that park ops leaders didn't have the greatest reputation back when I was a CM so I don't doubt what your experiences were.

I have to say, when I did my CP, my resort leaders were wonderful!! They were the perfect combo of firm, respectful, and holding us to higher standards without demeaning us. That's why it was such a shock when I came back a few years later as a PT/FT and experienced the personalities (or lack there of) from park ops.

If you had such a bad experience working there why did you try to attempt to buy an annual pass holder pass? Surely you still want to visit and experience the magic and the mouse will take anyones money.

You keep tossing that around like it’s somehow meaningful. It’s not. Not everyone working at a Central Florida Planet Fitness is earning minimum wage. They also don’t deal with the things that were mentioned that you tried to blame on low level management. Things like parking off site, long internal travel to work and break areas, costuming, being outside for hours, dealing with thousands of people, inflexible scheduling, etc. are part of working at Planet Fitness. So yeah, someone who could walk to a Planet Fitness instead of driving for 45 minutes, who might be able to do other things like study for class while manning a desk may well still chose $10 over $17.

You are incorrect. Hourly start at $10 but you are just assuming one wants to work for $10 instead of $17 for your assumption reasons. Seems like over 80K cast work at WDW and deal with what you have described some have been with Disney 20, 30,40 or more years which is a big accomplishment. Any mgt regardless of level is there to lead and build teams.

Do you work in corporate communications? You’re not actually saying anything but a bunch of buzz words. Just because Planet Fitness starts at minimum doesn’t mean everyone there is making that rate. Walt Disney World is not fully staffed. Walt Disney World is having trouble staying staffed. Those are facts.

If you haven’t had the responsibility to lead teams and make those tough decisions then that’s surely understandable . Not every one can do that job.
