MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

I wonder what percentage of guests ride:
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
Mad Tea Party
The Magin Carpets of Aladdin
Astro Orbiter
at Magic Kingdom?
Most operate at or close to capacity the majority of the day.

Tea Party would be around 7,700.
If MK had 30k guests that would be about 25%. (Assuming 10 hours of full operation).

If MK had more guests it would also likely have longer operation hours so the percentage would probably be similar.

Just back of napkin math - certainly not precise.

Interesting. I really was asking a legitimate question. I have never experienced the spinning cups or the flying carpets and I have only been on the carrousel and spinnin rockets once.
My first visited to WDW was in 1977. With many, many trips since.
BTW I'm heading out right now to the Magic Kingdom for the day. It's been several years since we have been.

Of course the attractions I mentioned are very small in their 'footprint'. But if any of these attractions were removed the visual impact would not be so great.

We need a new stat: People per Hour per square feet!!

That's pretty easy. Someone get on google maps and get me the square footage. I'll do a few:

Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
1400 pph, 6000 sqft = 0.23 pph/sqft

Mad Tea Party
850 pph, 12000 sqft = 0.07 pph/sqft

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
960 pph, 8000 sqft = 0.12 pph/sqft

Astro Orbiter
420 pph, 6900 sqft = 0.06 pph/sqft

Liberty Bell + TSI
1350 pph + 500 pph, 392,000 sqft = 0.005 pph/sqft

Pirates (I counted the ride building, shop, bathrooms etc.)
3200 pph, 95000 sqft = 0.03 pph/sqft

I don;t think I have ever thought about this before some how but is there any dining/food locations in this expansion (obv for villains there is, but talking cars area)
I think with the popularity of the Cozy Cone - Mac and Cheese in a cone at Cars Land in DCA, we can expect that to come to this area in some way.

Especially that they do this same type of food at How to Train your Dragon in Epic and it's a massive hit there as well.

I'm not sure how they make it work since our Cars area is not themed to Route 66 and no Cozy Cone, but I feel like it would be a missed opportunity to bring that food over to WDW, as I can't think of any place it is currently in WDW? That snack feels synonymous with Cars in the Disney Parks, for me at least.

By my math once not zero.

My family did it several times so we made up for it 👍

My kid even found the paint brush... If you know, you know.
The point being, one visit was enough and there was no interest over a subsequent dozen and a half trips to visit TSI again for kids in the target demographic. Of course, others may feel otherwise.

I'm down for removing Magic Carpets, but you are still removing capacity from the park which stinks. Adventureland is my favorite park of the park so I wouldn't mind.
Agreed! But not until BTMRR, Buzz & at least the Cars attraction opens before closing…the attraction is still very popular with the younger guests, so ship it over to Morocco… that will kill three birds with one stone…added foot traffic to Morocco…another attraction for the kiddos in WS and a reuse of a beloved attraction.

Agree, plus with the restaurant in the back of Morocco closed anyways why not put the carpets there. Plus think the middle of Adventureland should just be trees and if you want even a snack stand or two. I also don't think an middle eastern based ride/film makes sense in a land that is pretty much all Polynesian with a little Caribbean section to the side.

I think the shipped has sailed to put a spinner in World Showcase. They considered it, announced it and then got cold feet on very recently. (Mary Poppins)

Trees, the spitting camels, tables, and umbrella or 10, move the egg-roll cart back there and a Dole whip…it can’t get any better than that…

We could get the east coast sister location, The Comfy Cone!

My pitch would be remove the carpets and make that a green space and either put the carpets in the back of the Morocco pavilion or retime it to moana and put in near pirates
I’ve said it before, but make the Fire Mountain expansion pad into a much better Agrabah bazaar that incorporates Magic Carpets and a Cave of Wonders simulator, then return the Adventureland courtyard to its original theme (with some Moana details if they must in order to get it through).

without the flying carpets, the camels would not necessarily make sense... They should all move to either a new expanded Agribah area that does a better job of creating an Aladdin themed area, or to the Morocco pavilion as an added attraction.... Reimagine the Adventureland courtyard area with new covered seating, water features and something that feels more exotic....
