Nah if cars gets cut then villains land will too
That last sentence kind of sums it up for me. If you take it for granted that the still very vague proposal for a villain's land will be between great and amazing, I can kind of imagine seeing the replacement of RoA and essentially Frontierland for a Cars land as a worthy trade-off. Personally, I'm still taking a cautious approach to the sudden embrace by Disney of a fan fantasy proposal that has existed for decades and been officially announced with great fanfare and little concrete details as something that will open after a couple of other big projects open. Particularly at a moment when they're trying to drum up excitement and smooth over some of their more controversial plans.I get it if people would be happy if Cars was cancelled and instead RoA was just reduced to make way for Villains. But, if cancelling Cars means Villains would also be cancelled then I would not want that to happen.
If Cars is even just somewhere between "Okay" and "Good," and Villains is between "Great" and "Amazing," then I would take that one-two punch over RoA any day.
For me, keeping the bird in the hand that is RoA/Frontierland seems a better bet than throwing it away for whatever the Villain's Land might end up being, which could range from amazing to non-existent. I certainly haven't yet seen anything that makes me think they've finally cracked the code for how to make a land like this work nor, for that matter, that suggests it depends on the Cars area being built..
