really! Wow, The year I attended they were applauding for just about anything that was said....It was pretty much silence for Cars and the robot Walt announcement.

I mean, the amount of people saying that it's become the quiet spot in the Magic Kingdom certainly hints towards an attendance decline in recent yearsI’d be curious on the attendance levels for the riverboat and island…. Have they gone down?
Are less people visiting the island now vs. 1980? 1990?
That’s not numbers though… that’s why I said it would be interesting.I mean, the amount of people saying that it's become the quiet spot in the Magic Kingdom certainly hints towards an attendance decline in recent years
Well polys status should tell you something… plus the obvious lack of replacements as things get slowly removed.I’d be curious on the attendance levels for the riverboat and island…. Have they gone down?

What is polys status?Well polys status should tell you something…
Over the course of the last 18 years, I've visited multiple times in every single month of the year. I don't ever remember Aunt Polly's ever being open. It's another building they've left empty and useless.Unfortunately there were many times I was on the island when it was busy and Aunt Pollys was either closed or just served uncrustables.... Aunt Polly's could have been busier if it had a track record of being open and had something really great to offer... That could have even driven attendance to the island... allowing people to actualluy rediscover what was there... The island has a lot of cool things to wander through....
Someone wished on a monkeys paw for Disney to run their parks more like universal does now.Does this change indicate that Disney will start operating their theme parks like it was Las Vegas-build something new, and in 30 years when the attraction is less busy, or the IP has become tired and not as popular, bulldoze it for something new and shiny based on what most 7 year old's love at the time? Is this gonna be the new business model?

Seems like it.Does this change indicate that Disney will start operating their theme parks like it was Las Vegas-build something new, and in 30 years when the attraction is less busy, or the IP has become tired and not as popular, bulldoze it for something new and shiny based on what most 7 year old's love at the time? And in relation to this thread - Jaws was not the best move and should not have been replaced. There was other property that could have worked for Harry Potter.Twister, Ghostbusters and Beetlejuice are far stronger properties than what replaced them.
Replacing an original attraction/area that used a beloved "older" IP that had a large footprint and used water as a conveyance, with a newer, "cooler" IP that the kids will love-it took Disney 14 years to work in that horrible idea from Uni.And in relation to this thread - Jaws was not the best move and should not have been replaced. There was other property that could have worked for Harry Potter.
Yes. Jaws issue was that it took up real estate and costly to operate as well as being eadg for park to park transit between Potter Lands.. The big difference at least with Diagon and London compared to Jimmy Fallon and Superchargged, is the land has made healthy profits and accolades. And in relation to this thread - Jaws was not the best move and should not have been replaced. The other big difference is that Diagon Alley is arguably the best theme park land in the world haha. The big difference at least with Diagon and London compared to Jimmy Fallon and Superchaeged, is the land has made healthy profits and accolades.
I loved jaws it's one of those movies that will be a classic and so was the attraction bad move removing it universalAnd in relation to this thread - Jaws was not the best move and should not have been replaced. There was other property that could have worked for Harry Potter.
Exactly. Hence the accolades. The other big difference is that Diagon Alley is arguably the best theme park land in the world haha.
