Why in your right mind would you go on vacation to the happiest place on earth and carry a gun. To many accidents could happen and probably will happen. Leave the Guns at home and let the rest of us enjoy a peaceful safe atmoshpere.

The reason someone would carry a firearm into WDW is the same reason you would carry it anywhere else. NO PLACE is 100% safe. I'd rather LE deal with a situation, but sometimes the cops are busy. So regular citizens have to step up and help out.

Totaly disagree with letting citizens step up and help out. This is where the most danger would be. COPS, Sherrifs, FBI, CIA, US Marshalls are all highly trained and skilled people that know how and when a situation calls for a gun and are trained in how to difuse situations. Citizens may know how to use guns and be very good shots but are not trained in the skills that the people I listed are trained in. This is kinda of getting scarry now

I dont feel safe knowing people around me have guns.

Just my eleven cents.

And I really don't feel safe in certain places without one. Probably because I'd rather end up judged by twelve than carried by six.

Two words:

RAINBOW SIX

Anyone that doesn't understand the above NEEDS TO. Terrorists take a hostage at a theme park with a castle (can we guess which he was trying NOT to say!), take people hostage, and kill a handicapped little girl in her wheelchair...

And I feel safer because of it. Of course, that only applies to responsible gun owners. I've always felt uncomfortable with thugs and criminals around.

But, as Phonedave mentioned, if I start feeling unsafe inside a WDW park, I wouldn't go anymore.

Agreed...I personally don't carry at WDW, but as I said, it wouldn't bother me if my brother did.

Leave it to my family to make my post all funny. Women train in BJJ all the time.

Oh and Kevin from Middleburg.......Blue Devils RULE!!!!! And I aint talking Duke....Yup Green Cove baby YEAH!!!

Not just women...my 12 year old son has a purple belt in Karate, not BJJ, but still martial arts.

Really....I'm actually an OPHS grad, but Middleburg is a much nicer place now - OP went from the nice middle class Navy part of town to slum in a few years...another reason I choose to carry. You should check out OP mall some day - yikes!

I love when regular citizens randomly shoot up places! I hope the cops are too busy the next time my neighbours tick me off. I'm going to have a regular citizen go over and shoot the living daylights out of them.

Of course, one of my neighbours is a cop so he'll probably be peeved to find out that the months of training on why using your gun is a last resort was a waste.

I have always wanted to shoot someone. How do I get "regular citizenship" status so I can do that?

Not just heated, but also bizarre.

Well, yeah. If this one continues down the bizzare path, rather than sticking to the rational difference of opinion (which many posters have been able to express without hyberbole) , it'll be locked.

I understand what your saying. I just don't think your taking into account how many citizens are as highly trained as law enforcement in armed and UNarmed responses. We'll agree to disagree. As for your last statement, it's always been scary.

I'm quite nervous of guns, and don't trust anyone with one when they carry it. Even police officers. I don't think anyone should have the power to take my life, even if they don't exercise it.

Would it bother you if I said that I don't consider gun ownership to be responsible in any way?

It wouldn't bother me in any way if you said this. And while we are at it, next time someone is kicking in your door and holding your family at gunpoint, call the Fire Department since they don't carry firearms. I would hate to have to make this call and have to bring the small arsenal that I carry daily, because we don't want to upset you. I deal with your type every day. It used to bother me, but now it just amuses me. You Funny. And you might as well get used to the fact, like it or not, I do have the Authority and the power to do what you don't think I should be able to do, while carrying the things that you don't think I should be able to carry. This is just something all of us, as you put it, Corrupt Cops, do.

In that post dont you sort of confirm some of the things he was saying?

Just a little southern sarcasm.

Well at least the FD may turn up If I called, the only way PC plod would appear here is if I twatted an intruder with my trusty bat, then plod would be here in a flash to uphold the burglars rights and nick me for assault.

And I wish I was being sarcastic ...:animwink:

It was a thread created to bait and I took it.

It won't be locked as long as Mods side is promoted.

Why this thread was allowed when inappropriate is beyond me. Point confirmed.

For some of us there is a legit fear of citizens with guns.

It will be made fun of and insulted.

Because that is the truth, that is what is censored.

I say the he'll with idiology favoritism.

I can say that my gun fears are greater than another's gun needs. Which will again be made fun of and dismissed.

It appears that some are objecting to allowing any discussion on this topic. I have read some good POVs presented by both sides of the issue, and some that totally dismiss any other POV.

But since each side only wants to see its POV presented, I will close the thread.

I went back, and saw a pretty much equal number of pro vs anti gun posts.

Again, some topics just get too heated.
