I heard rumors on here that although they were scheduled to be moving to AK, they are not there due to costuming issues. Can anyone confirm this?

I completely fell in love with UP when it came out and was sooooooooooo excited to see them on this trip in October. :(

Maybe they'll take Dug and Carl out for special events. Would love to see them at MNSSHP (even though their Pixar characters) They could be in Adventure Land! Mmmmm...where do I send in my suggestions?

You'd think they would want to fix that asap due to it being such a big movie and still so recent. It just came out last year and won academy awards this year!

I loved 'UP', it is one of my favourite films. I would have been cool to see them. Are the parks selling 'UP' merchandise? I will definately take extra $$$$ with me when I go in September if they are!!! SQUIRREL!!!!

They weren't in February. It was a great source of frustration for me that trip.

Its strange how Disney seems to pick and choose which movies get the most publicity at the parks, regardless of the success of the movie. You get tons of Cars/Toy Story/Monsters Inc related things, but surprisingly little of Incredibles, Ratatouille, Wall-E, and Up....

Little of the incredibles? The incredibles never left the magic of Disney animation! not to mention their big finale appearance in block party bash...

I agree. It seems that movies with maybe a more mature story base i.e. UP and Wall-E seem to not be pushed as much Monsters Inc. & Cars.

I take it Carl, Dug and Russell aren't in Block Party Bash then either? :(

Having just recently seen "Up" I will agree that it is decidedly more mature than a lot of Disney fare. It would be nice to see Disney acknowledge their "older" guests by putting these characters in the parks.

I think he/she was referring to the merch in the parks! I was surprised by the lack of Wall E merch as well. I went to WDW the Sept. after the movie was released and there was nothing. My son had a small Eve Plush that he carried around the parks with him on that trip. You wouldn't believe the people that stopped and asked me where I got it. Disney could have made so much more money on Wall E merch at the parks. I guess they don't want our money!?!

I also would love to see the Up characters still around. It's a shame they can't resolve the costuming issues or whatever the problem is! I'd love to see some Up merch too!

I'm regretting not buying the cute UP merch that was out last summer in Disney stores. Really wish I would have gotten something...

For now, I have my stuffed Kevin and baby that are sitting on my floor lamp.

i don't understand why ALL characters are not available for M&G if one (I believe I read on the boards that it was Russell) costume is the issue. I would still LOVE to meet Carl and Dug. And why can't they work on Russell's costume in the mean time to make it more M&G friendly.

I know it's been a while since the movie was in the theater but I think it still has a huge fan base and people would love to have the opportunity to meet these characters. Look the Incredibles was released in 2004 and I believe they are still doing M&G.

Right back at ya Dug!

As someone who was best friends with Dug from his first day in the park, I can tell you that Russell's issues have been worked on continuously. His outfit got changed every few weeks so that he would be more comfortable as he did his M&G, but they don't make many clothes in "Big and Short" size :brick:

All three characters were very challenging to many people. I was just very lucky to be able to handle a rambunctious puppy like Dug. Many people were not able to handle him, since he could tire his friends out very quickly. Russell was even more energetic, so many times his friends needed to stop playing with him early, or even got sick. Carl had many of the aches and pains that old men have, and he could be a pain in the neck to his friends.

Also, both Russell and Carl had many accessories, such as Carl's walker and Russell's Explorer pins and badges that were hard to keep track of.

I loved those guys as much as anybody, and some days even *I* got frustrated with them. I hope this helped explain some of the difficulties, and why it might not be possible to see Carl, Dug and Russell in the parks any more.

When I get a chance I'll try and post some of the pictures I have of the guys doin their thang.
