Caribbean Plaza?

On the attractions poster for the PotC, the ride is said to be located at Caribbean Plaza. Is this the area location of the ride within adventureland or was this a land in of itself when the attraction opened?

Pirates has always been a part of Adventureland.

The caribbean plaza is the area right by the entrance to Frontierland. Overall, it is a portion of Adventureland.

If I remember correctly Caribbean Plaza was a new addition to Adventureland when Pirates was built. Prior to the Pirates/Caribbean Plaza expansion Adventureland dead-ended and did not connect to Frontierland.

It's just a wall and the berm, to be honest...

Yeah, there was never much there. When PotC was built, the area basically included the entrance structure from Frontierland, the area directly in front of PotC, and the walkway leading to the restrooms. Its all but disappeared, as signage has been removed and the area is now merely just part of Adventureland.
