Day 5 continued
So we made our way over to Pooh and used our FP. We got through the first couple of rooms to when Pooh dozes off. And then the ride dozed off...
The lights came on, the music stopped. It was only a couple of minutes before a message came on the intercom saying something about the ride stopping. I wish I could remember what it said. At this point I still thought it would start back, but pretty soon a cast member came walking through and told us we would be escorted off the ride.
While we waited, the kid in front of us pointed out a hidden Mickey to our left
Good eye, kiddo! This little boy was riding with his Grandma and I wanted to join them for the rest of their trip...they were adorable. The grandma mentioned she'd never been taken off a ride, and she'd been coming since the park opened! This was our first time too. I'm glad it was a relatively easy ride to get out of.
First a mechanic came over to push our ride vehicle forward so that it wasn't between rooms.
Then two cast members came by along with the people from the vehicle in front of us. They gave us two FP+s (one for each of us) and manually opened the door. Then we all went to the next car back and continued that process for about 5 more ride vehicles. Everyone seemed pretty cool with it, and the cast members worked really fast.
I was trying to be discreet about photos. I don't think they wanted people taking any. There was nothing we couldn't see while we're on the ride though, so I figured it didn't matter. One of the CMs pointed out another hidden mickey in the garden
You can't see it in the picture, but she's pointing at it if you want to look next time you ride
. I didn't want to stop walking to get a good shot (I think that's why they didn't want people taking pictures...because they stop and slow things down). This whole process couldn't have been more than 15 minutes.
So once we got out, we headed to the exit. We were planning to come back for dinner, so we figured we would use our extra FP then.
We stopped for some pictures in front of the castle
When we got back to Caribbean Beach, we headed to the food court to get sodas. I also wanted to check out the store.
We bought our $3 sodas and while we were filling them up, someone very sweet gave us their refillable mugs! They were about to leave and didn't want to keep them. WOO! I mean, I wish we had gotten them before we spent the money on our own, but hey...I'm happy to have free soda for the rest of our stay. We washed them then filled them up. Thank you, kind strangers!!
I ended up not walking around the store much. It was super busy in there, but I came back several times, so no worries.
We went back to the room and rested. Well, R rested in the room. I rested here:
Yeah baby! Hammocks are my jam. I didn't have much trouble this whole trip getting a hammock, and this was right outside our window. PRAISE! It was glorious out too, even in the sun. It was hot, but there was a breeze most of the day.
I think I ended up laying there for about an hour and reading/napping. I was reading Night Circus, which was really good. I know
@prfctlyximprct has read it!
I took a few more pictures when we walked back to the food court later to fill our mugs again.
The resort really grew on me after the arrival fiasco. I still don't love that it's sooooooo huge and I can't see the whole resort without taking an hour long walk, but I get that it would be appealing to some. The atmosphere in the Jamaica area was quite nice.
