Captain EO in pretty Lousy Shape

My only point is that Disney stops maintaining stuff as well once they have decided on it's 'shelf life'. I want both hista and eo gone. The entire pavilion needs an extreme makeover top to bottom. Maybe even to the point of an entirely new theme. IMO.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! Don't give them too many ideas JT.

!!PLEASE keep Imagination as the theme!!

I agree the entire pavilion needs a good look at the last few times I've been there it's been walk on to both attractions. Personally I'd rather they brought back bodyworks or did something with that pavilion first though. That said I've never seen whats wrong with the current JIYI although that may be because I've only ever known it in it's current incarnation as a fun family ride.

Because it is a step back and hurts the park more than helps it.

How? It's something different in that pavilion that will attract more guests than HISTA would... That's a step back? I don't think so... If anything it proves that there is some attention being brought to Future World. Hopefully a complete Imagination overhaul will happen sooner rather than later.

I've heard EO will be here for at least 2 years. Hopefully within that time JII will close for an overhaul. Once that is done, re-open JII and close EO to be replaced with a new 3-D film. That makes the most sense...

Niether was Epcot when it opened. I said I was an EPCOT Center purist not an Epcot purist. SO the park when it first opened.

I don't hat the park but here is what it needs imo.

SSE: Finish the ending
JII: Obvius just build JII 4.0
TT: Doesn't fit in FW but if you tweak the pre and post show it fits fine.
MS: OK
UOE: Content is dated just needs a good refurb
Land: Soarin needs a new film that is dedicated to the LAnd, also LWTL could use a few tweaks.

Test Track does fit. It talks about future test vehicles that haven't been released.

I agree with everything else though. Future World just needs something new. Tron would be perfect...

...by showing vehicles from the mid-90s and taking us through "tests" inside nearly-bare rooms (save for the crash test) and then spitting us into a B.A. GM showroom. I really like riding TT but we shouldn't make it out to be more than it is. If they ever do build RSR at DHS then TT will have even less going for it.

At this point the pre-show is as guilty of being dated as Captain EO. It's actually more dated as it doesn't try to be a fantasy story.

Just a bit of blue sky....

that side of FW has a land pavilion and a sea pavilion. So why not a pavilion that deals with earth's atmosphere? Weather, powered flight and aeronautics. The atrium is perfect for such a theme. Perhaps a Stormrider could be added.

Perhaps they could connect Soarin' to the Imagination building instead of through the land. The Land could reclaim the area currently dedicated to much of the soarin queue. Then they could add Food Rocks back or a new show.

As I said, just blue sky.

Explain how a chessy 3D film that was outdated 20 years ago fits in FW.

How can it be outdated 20 years ago when it had just come out 20 years ago and still is less dated than HISTA?? At least EO romantizes a fantasy future of space travel and adventure across the stars (like Star Wars) and has alot of creativity in it (tying back to Imagination).

As for how it fits into FW? It fits better than tie in's to Finding Nemo and the ill-fated Mission to Mars movie (have you seen the CGI in that film? Talk about dated), a recreation of a GM factory from the late 90s, and a simulator about California landmarks.

Sheesh, when I think of it from this perspective, it makes FW seem really, really sad and horrible.

Sounds like something Figment632 would say....

You are right I joined his little EC group over on another site.

Also FW shouldn't romantizes the future that is what TL is for.

I'm sorry but I agree with other posters, EO is an abomination of a show. The only reason TDO brought it back was to make a quick buck off of MJ's death, nothing more. Had MJ not died then EO would still be collecting dust in the "terrible ideas" storage room.

From my understanding, it's corporate that wanted it back, not TDO.

More like they are cheap and wanted to see how it went so they can make money off of a persons death.

This is the second time in two days you have your facts wrong. There are forums out there for the uninformed.

It is especially shocking because you call yourself Spock.

EO came back in California long before Florida. I suspect the suits there thought if it worked well there it would work in Florida and 'convinced' TDO to install it.

Stupid suits.

Sad but true.

The Living Seas, World Of Motion, Horizons, etc....all had a central theme and purpose.

Take a look at the past, see where we are today and then imagine what we can do in the future.

Now EPCOT is a dim shadow of it's former self.

Or maybe I'm just getting old and maudlin.

That is what I said TDO waited to see how it went over in DL before they commited. Only when they saw people coming in droves to EO in DL did they go ahead with it.

So no I am not wrong mybe you misunderstood what I said.
