Captain EO in pretty Lousy Shape

A realistic view of the future. EO is sc-fi and muppets.

I made a mistake about EO it was Magic Journeys In FL I guess I should have researched it better... ate my own words.

Still A trip to MArs that simulates space flight fits imo muppest in space does not.

Care to explain how HISTA was better fit then? I'll wait.

And technically Horizons was science fiction.

Science Fiction: "fiction dealing with the impact of imagined innovations in science or technology."

That is a pretty broad definition. Mission Space is imagined technology, as is test track (wink wink... they really don't do the car tests just like that. What about Universe of Energy? Time travel?

All I'm saying is that on this board we get a lot of absolute definitions. something DOESN'T fit because of this canonic reasoning that I invented. The parks have and need flexibility to craft a compelling entertainment. It is all an evolution with a constantly changing story.

Also I am not saying I want it in FL just that I would rather have it there than EC. Ideally the perfect home for EO is TL like in DL so it is not possible in WDW.

HISTA while not good fit the theme of the Imagination Institute that the whole pavilion was themed to.

I didn't like HISTA either but at least it fit the theme of the pavilion.

You realize it wasn't themed to the "Imagination Institute" when HISTA began right? The pavilion was later changed to fit the stupid movie.

SSE show me one Scifi aspect of it besides the dumb cartoon at the end.

What about the fact that it's a giant model of a spaceship that is supposed to look like our planet while holding the Earth's history inside and at the end you can design Earth's future. Sounds like Sci-fi to me.

That is way of It is a Dark ride that takes you through earths history of Communication.

But it's a spaceship version of Earth. Almost like a time capsule for space if it were real. I am sticking by my words. Fantasyland would have been the worst idea for EO. :hurl:

That is a stretch but like I said whil I would not want it in FL either imo it is the lesser of two evils. I am a EPCOT Center purist so if it doesn't fit the mission statement I am against it.

The other way it doesn't belong in EC is that it teaches nothing that is why I am against the burrent version of TLS and Soarin to an extent.

"There's room for EO in this world
If everyone makes some room
Won't you move over and share this world
Everyone make some room

Even a EO deserves a place, a wide open Space
With no reins, no chains
He wants to play games, dance with you
Give him a chance to sing his song
He only wants to belong"

How does the current version of TLS teach nothing? The entire Turtle Talk show is aimed at teaching children and answering their questions about marine life.

The ride Nemo ride is the problem it teaches nothing but it is a big blue world.

Oh well, there's no shortage of learning around the rest of the pavilion. And they're certainly learning more than they did when the sea cabs for closed for years.

If you're such an EPCOT purist you should really hate the park as a whole, it's nothing like Walt's original vision for EPCOT.

Niether was Epcot when it opened. I said I was an EPCOT Center purist not an Epcot purist. SO the park when it first opened.

I don't hat the park but here is what it needs imo.

SSE: Finish the ending
JII: Obvius just build JII 4.0
TT: Doesn't fit in FW but if you tweak the pre and post show it fits fine.
MS: OK
UOE: Content is dated just needs a good refurb
Land: Soarin needs a new film that is dedicated to the LAnd, also LWTL could use a few tweaks.

I'm thinking the condition of the ride may reflect that Disney realizes people don't like it as much as they thought they would and so they are letting it go. It seems a relevent part of the conversation. Just my opinion and I'm not arguing.

This is true because as we all know people were lining up and planning trips to WDW to just see HISTA. Was HISTA in a good or bad state when it was attracting it's 2 guest per day when it was there? I wouldn't know last time I saw HISTA was 199????????????????????

I saw it last November and when we were done, I went right to guest relations and commented on the quality (or lack of) the current print they were running. 3D is great, but when you have a bad print, blurry 3D can make you sick.

My only point is that Disney stops maintaining stuff as well once they have decided on it's 'shelf life'. I want both hista and eo gone. The entire pavilion needs an extreme makeover top to bottom. Maybe even to the point of an entirely new theme. IMO.
