Captain EO in pretty Lousy Shape

I never even saw it until it returned this summer, and while I find it a little bit awkward, I still enjoy it more than HISTA. Its probably going to be here until a new replacement for HISTA comes, so it was a choice of having an attraction that is outdated in a bad way (HISTA) or having one that is outdated in a campy, cheesy, fun way (EO).

Think what you want about MJ, but there is absolutely nothing in the film itself that would make you think of him as a bad person.

Well his leadership skills as a Captain are questionable. :)

Cheesy 80s sci-fi or cheesy 90s sci-fi? I'll take cheesy 80s sci-fi, I guess. I'm looking forward to seeing EO again in December.

I think a lot of the poopoo posters like Kamikaze etc.. suffer a different demography then those of us who do like EO. That and their opinions go to far into the unnecessary wine that ah good sharp cheddar cheese or ah rochford cheese would do nicely...that is a smelly kinda cheese after all.
These kinda people do nothing more then breath to deep hog the air then to make a statement with filling the troff.

Something more like: "I gave review to EO and found it not to my liking, others may get enjoyment. As for me (Kamikaze) I prefer a good jot in IASW and a helping of HOP.....I still cant seem to see the crown in the fountain, blast! Fy! :)

It's a nostalgic thing. HISTA didn't exactly fit that great either, so why complain? I find Captain EO to be a much more enjoyable show than HISTA.

Most people, especially Disney fans tend to be nostalgic. That's why they brought back this ABOMINATION.

EO was a pile of crap when it debuted..................... and it still is.

The nostalgic lemmings who CLAIM to enjoy this show will get their fix soon. The rest of us will continue to blow it off.
And Disney will pull this garbage pile fairly quickly.

Jackson's drug induced early death gave Disney an opportunity to make a quick buck.
Wish they hadn't, but can't really blame them. I guess.

After the initial freshness ends. People will see EO for what it really is.
An joke of an attraction inspired by a very messed up weirdo.
I'm not saying he wan't talented, just that this wasn't his best effort. Not by a long shot.
And his personal decisions left MUCH to be desired.

Hopefully something new will take its place.
HISTA was becoming very dated.

abomination? will you be picketing outside the attraction? hista was becoming dated? it was dated 15 years ago! no kid today even knows what honey i shrunk the anything is. EO will be gone by the end of the year so you will be able to breath again from this "abomination".
it amazes me how intense people get over this.

Neither ever belonged in Future World. Disney should just donate the film to the estate.

Is it official it will be gone, rumor, wishful thinking or just a guess?

Personally I think it is keeping as many people away from Epcot as it is attracting. And the merchandise sales are not likely to be making up the difference. It really is time to close the pavilion and start the reimagining. Even without a long range plan they could still begin the demolition of the interior spaces..

i would say strong rumor at this point that it will close from insiders. when that happens we will see a new imagination. again strong rumors at this point.

i doubt it...they barely promoted it. and i don't think it was supposed to be the big deal everyone is making it to be. it is made out to be "a look back" not a replacement or new attraction which when you actually experience it in real life you know it is on a limited run. i am sure you know this but speaking to others.

I like how another thread has turned into weather or not you like EO. This thread wasn't even intended for that. It was to discuss the condition of the attraction. Can we talk about that? We don't care if you like the show or not (at least I don't)

I'm thinking the condition of the ride may reflect that Disney realizes people don't like it as much as they thought they would and so they are letting it go. It seems a relevent part of the conversation. Just my opinion and I'm not arguing.
