Hello everyone,

15 days till my family arrives in Disney!!!

I was wondering if anyone knew if they sell a certian type of candy in the Germany pavilion in EPCOT.

The item I am looking for is called "Kinder Surprise Eggs" They are chocolate Eggs wrapped in foil and contain a toy surprise in the middle. My son LOVES them since a neighbor of ours from Germany gave him one.

Any help would be great.

Thanks, Tom

I have never seen the product you descried in the Germany pavilion. It doesn't mean they are not there, but I haven't noticed it before.

Kinder Eggs are officially "banned" in the US since they contain a non-edible toy surrounded by edible chocolate. Unfortunately.

That said, they have traditionally been available at some European import stores, for example some Italian delis/markets up here in the Northeast, where I've gotten them before.

I'm pretty sure Disney does not sell them because of the legal implications of the "Kinder Embargo." But if you really would like to get them for your son, don't click here! Shh!

Well then, if you want to stuff the whole darn thing down your gullet in one fell swoop, you can thank the FDA for protecting you from the menace that is the Kinder Surprise Egg.

Check these guys out: linky. It's hilarious in a bureaucratic sort of way.

I remember when a product like this was very briefly available in the US. In fact, I'm pretty sure they were Disney-branded. I have vague memories of getting a toy Simba in one.

Yep, the Nestle Wonderball, now owned by Frankford Candy Co. and no longer branded Nestle or Disney.

It used to have toys inside like the Kinder Surprise Egg, but when that whole deal turned into a legal fiasco, they got rid of the toys inside the Wonderball and put SweetTarts inside instead. Hence... edible candy surrounded by edible chocolate... and perfectly legal! Still sold nationwide in accordance with federal regulations.

We have these in the UK, i love them!
I think most kids who eat them know theres a toy there so most of them just crack the egg open the toy then eat the chocolate..or is that just me:lookaroun

WOW!

Thanks everyone. And thanks for the link! (oh wait, I mean what link?)

The funny thing is that my wife and I found the Kinder eggs in Mexico but are running out. And a couple of the Kinder brand eggs had Mickey and winnie the Pooh on them. No idea whats in those though as we are saving them to surprise him a few days before the trip.

Thanks again!

Tom
