Well, given how important the fishermen of New England, the farmers of the Great Plains, the factory workers at the auto plants in Detroit, the cowboys of the West, and so on have been in shaping the cultures of those places, I think your premise of what people do not being a part of culture at all to be completely insane but it doesn't sound like there's going to be any change on this.

The second point about the personal attacks was not directed at you. Sorry for the misunderstanding. That was a general comment directed at a number of people over the pages that have been posted since the video came up.

I'm not saying people are attacking the show unfairly because they miss what was there. I'm saying people are letting their anger push them to go beyond criticizing the show and engaging in personal attacks.

No your not going to change my opinion because you are describing work cultures not a Nation's culture. I work at a library when I vacation I like to visit libraries. I like to see how they do things That is my work culture something my family thinks is nuts. I am going to England with my son's military marching band we ae going to share our military music and traditions with them. These include things like an Ontario flag, poppies (insidently a Canadian thing your country doesn't share) of course socializing and sharing stories. I am 100% positive that I won't be asked or defined by my employment. Will I go to a library? Sure if I get time but that truely is a library culture think not because I am Canadian.

Regions have different culture too but those are regional culture and still diverse. Not all people that live in the west are Cowboys. I live in a small neighbourhood surrounded by farms but I am not a farmer.

Yeah, you're a farmer. I've seen CMT.

So this came up in my news feed.

Entertaining, inspiring, informative, and creative. She's not just cutting wood for the sake of showing off her power tools.

That is Griffon Ramsey, wife to the creator of Rooster Teeth's Achievement Hunter, Geoff Ramsey. She worked for Rooster Teeth for a while before going off on her own. Here most notable contribution was season one of the "Immersion" series.

Now, this is just my two cents with having a background in theatre. All Equity (or shows including Equity) acts at Epcot were let go at the end of their contract, and replaced with third party acts. The performers in Off Kilter were casted through Disney, in Orlando. They posted auditions for Off Kilter on their audition website, just like they do Mulch, Sweat and Shears. It's even likely that some of the same performers for MSS were in OK as well. So basically, it was a budget issue. They can pay third party acts a lot less than Equity performers, and still have an entertainment offering.

So Voices of Liberty was not/is not equity? Or are you alluding to a second shoe dropping...

Ah yes, reminds of the show in Ketchikan from our Disney Alaska cruise. I love Off Kilter, and bought 2 CDs years ago. Of course, I never actually stood around and watched them, but it was a nice sound from around the lagoon. Even in the Mexico waterside restaurant you could hear them. Question: Did you generally just walk by Off Kilter, or did you actually stay and listen?

By the way, I also have alternative lyrics for "O' Canada" but I fear that some would be offended. Not insulting, really, but perhaps offensive to the more reverent Canadians in the crowd.

Never ever stayed to watch the show. Never once listened to one of their songs. IMO the music was always obnoxiously loud while walking by and I personally hate the sound of bagpipes. Not at all sad to see them go but not thrilled by any means with their replacement. Just another thing to walk on by.

I remember a few times stopping to watch for a few minutes but over time we would generally pass on by but still enjoyed hearing the music while in the area.

First of all Celtic rock is VERY Canadian especially in the maritimes and Ontario look up the Glengarry Bhoys for an act very similar to Off Kilter.

I've been to a fair number of real lumberjack shows and from the video this is incredibly lame plus no self respecting lumberjack would be using a ECHO chain saw that's a big box store brand. They would be using a Stihl , Poulan, Red Max or Husqvarna chainsaw

For real lumberjack action which is fun to watch

This is us. We were not big fans, but the music in the area set a nice atmosphere. I probably would have sat to watch for a bit if there had ever been room on a bench. (Disney, if you read this take it as: with Off Kilter there was NEVER seating room left when we passed by, be it December, February or August.)

Thank you for your notes on Celtic Rock. For those folk curious as to why Celtic style music is popular in Eastern Canada, look no further than the source of immigration for the area: Europe, mainly Ireland, but also England (my family made way to Canada from England and Scotland through Ireland) The US and Canada share similar history with immigration.

In response to comments made about Disney's contract with Paul Bunyon: At this point in time Disney has good cause to break the contract with them in that they are not delivering a quality show. If instead, Disney chooses to ride it out and see if the show improves to the quality they need, Disney had better be complaining and documenting their issues with PB in order to show grounds for breaking the contract in the future.

Folk have been speculating that Disney planted managers in the audience to make it seem more popular. My bet is Disney has asked a good number of employees who they know/hope will be around for some time to come to be witness to the quality of show being put on. Of course they will clap and cheer - as part of the employing company, it would be rude otherwise.
