Canadian Lumberjack Show to open at Epcot's Canada Pavilion in early October

Now, this is just my two cents with having a background in theatre. All Equity (or shows including Equity) acts at Epcot were let go at the end of their contract, and replaced with third party acts. The performers in Off Kilter were casted through Disney, in Orlando. They posted auditions for Off Kilter on their audition website, just like they do Mulch, Sweat and Shears. It's even likely that some of the same performers for MSS were in OK as well. So basically, it was a budget issue. They can pay third party acts a lot less than Equity performers, and still have an entertainment offering.

I watched the entire Lumbercrack Show video and I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of contract they have with Disney? Is there any way this can be cancelled in the near future?

The insight is appreciated.

My pleasure! The show itself doesn't really appeal to me, so I don't think I'll be seeing it other than in passing. I suppose only time will tell how long it lasts. My thought is they were probably given an initial 6 month contract, to be extended based on guest reception. We shall see though!

I do think there was a surplus of musical acts around WS... however i'll take Off Kilter (and mostly likely whatever is replacing Mo'Rockin too) over this low quality entertainment any day.

This seems like a set up to cut entertainment altogether here. I'll be surprised if this show see's it's way into 2015.

I am concerned for the British Revolution show at UK pavilion now.:( I do enjoy that show.
