Can you pack toothpaste in carry-on luggage?

I know that airlines now have stricter rules regarding what you can take in your carry-on luggage, but what about toothpaste?:veryconfu
It's not a liquid.:lookaroun
I would like to brush my teeth after lunch when I arrive at the resort, so I would need to carry toothpaste w/ me because our other luggage may not be there for several hours.

Most of the time, toothpaste will need to be in your "one quart size plastic bag" and in a travel size of 3 ounces or less, along with the rest of your liquids and gels.

Occasionally I will even get a security guard who wants the shaving cream and deoderant stick to be in the plastic bag too, even though I don't consider them to be "liquids or gels" either. Always leave a litle room in your plastic bag in case one of those thigns has to fit in it too! As long as yo uare checking some luggage, make sure anything you absolutely will not need right away is packed in there. It's when traveling with ONLY a carry-on bag, that it gets a little tricky.

GOOD LUCK!

Yes you can take on toothpaste. But it must be 3 oz or less and fit inside a clear quart sized plastic bag that must be removed and sent through the scanners separate from your carry on.

Anything that is considered liquid, gel or foam must go through this. The link above is a good one to check. Especially check it the day before you leave. That is when they will change it - or at least they do on me.:)

Just make sure that you put ALL of the liquids (I saw the same thing with deodorant in the Orlando Airport, too) into the zip top bag and that you keep it out to save you some time.

You can get zipper top bags that say TSA Approved in the travel items section. I got mine at Target.

Have a great trip !

Just flew from Orlando to Newark last Thursday 6/28 and back on 6/29. I had a full size tube of toothpaste and no quart-size plastic bag. Just had it thrown in one of the pouches of my carry-on along with deodorant and electric shaver. Bag went right through security at both airports with no questions asked. Go figure.

While that can happen occasionally, don't count on it. Toothpaste is supposed to meet the < 3 oz. rule.

Plan on your clear plastic bag with all products and hassles will be avoided with TSA.
