Can you move the furniture?

I could have sworn I read a post somewhere of someone rearranging the furniture in their value resort room to give them more space. I think they also showed the floor plan with a sample of where they moved the furniture. Has anyone ever heard of this? Is it OK to move the furniture around? Does anyone have any ideas for this?
Thanks!! (P.S. we will be staying at the POP Nov '08)

Sorry, I'm not quite sure the answer. One quesiton though - Why would you want to move furniture? Honestly, it's your vacation and you'll be at WDW! Why relax and enjoy yourself instead of moving heavy objects?

Have a fantastic trip and welcome to the boards!

I do it every time I'm in a room, I have never had any hotel staff say anything to me about it.

well I think she means the chairs and such, I always move them because sometimes they just seem to be catty cornered into the middle of the room. I don't move the bed or dressers or anything.

Yes, I do mean the beds & dressers too. With 4 people in a value room it can be crowded. I am not sure I want to do this or not, but I am sure I read somewhere of someone doing this as soon as they got to thier room and it made the room so much more "roomier" ;) . Just thought I would check with others and get some ideas..

a 4 x 6 cell is still a 4 x 6 cell no matter which way you turn the bed. . Maybe if you put the dresser outside it might not be so cramped.

I would think that Disney had studies done etc...to maximize the amount of usuable space in the room through it's arrangment of the furniture. Not only that, if you move a bed a or even a table, expect to see a lot more dirt, because the maids work around that stuff, and there is bound to be dirt they didn't get to.

The beds and nightstands at the All-Stars (at least the pre-renovated ones) can definitely be moved. I've seen lots of couples who don't get a king bed in their room push them together to "make" a king bed. Also parents will also push the one bed near the wall against the wall so that their kids can't roll off that side.

I really can't think of any way to give the All-Star rooms "more room" except that the chairs table can go under the window.

Well I guess some people have useful information and others just like to have something to say. As the one reply said some people do like to put the beds together or push one against a wall so little ones don't tumble out. Good point about the dirt underneath though. Again, I wasn't sure I would do this or not, just wanted to know if anyone had ever heard of this. I had no idea people would respond to something they know nothing about.

We move the furniture against the door when our week is up and they tell us we have to leave.

In all seriousness, though, those rooms are indeed small, and no amount of furniture relocation is going to make them any larger. If you're vacationing on a budget - and who isn't, these days? - you might want to consider staying off-site. You'll find far larger rooms available for the same or less money you'd pay for a value resort. It all depends on what's more important to you - staying at a Disney resort, or staying in a larger room.
