Can you go to Character Dining without kids?

Hello,

My Mother and I will be taking our fourth trip to WDW this year, and wondered about going to a character meal.

Has anyone out there ever been to a character meal without children? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

Did you feel OK, or a bit silly? How did the characters interact with you? Were there any other families without children there?

I'd appreciate your comments.

Oh gosh, by all means, GO! The characters will be just as attentive to you as the table with kids. I've been to Cindy's restaurant and got all the characters/princesses there - and all of us were at least in our 30+.

And while I'm at it, don't even think twice about rushing to get in line to take pictures with the characters throughout the park. I often see adults with children becoming either just bystanders or doing the picture/video-taking, but they themselves don't get in on it. Go on and get in line like the rest of the kids and take pictures with the characters. Hand the character handler castmember your camera and they're more than happy to take your picture for you.

You're never too old, remember that. :)

I am 28 years old and I got up to 6 feet 3 inches tall and I still have not even come close to outgrowing those disney characters. I enjoy getting pictures with them, my 2 favorites are Suzy and Perla the female mice from Cinderella. They are so tiny like about 5 feet so when I get a picture taken with them ( which is all the time, many times 5 times in one day ) there heads are like at my shoulder its just so adorable Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Anyways you should be fine at a Character meal. If you wish to do it there is no reason why you can't. But still you can do as you wish he he

Like everyone before me has said - GO FOR IT. At WDW we're all kids at heart - and if you want to be pedantic about it, your mother is taking her child

Remember, you are asking folks who think nothing of walking around with Goofy ears or Mouse ears protruding from their head.

Go for it! Be a kid yourself if you don't have any "real" kids with you. Get their autograph and be sure to clean your plate!

When we go back in Dec. I'm going to see if they'll let me in the Crystal Palace for the charater breakfast without a kid. I'll let you know how far I get.

Disney doesn't kick you out of a character meal if you don't have a small child in your party!

Haha they won't kick you out!...Make ressies just so you know you'll get in, it can get busy...just last week me and my group of 5 full grown adults ate there..FANTASTIC!

My wife and I actually did breakfast at Chef Mickey's one morning. We both agreed it was one of the best meals we have ever had at Disney. It was good food, and all the characters would come by and take a picture. We though it was great and are definetely doing it again on our next trip.

hubby and I always do at least one charactor meal, we love 1900 Park Fare, earlier this year we went with my two adult sisters and had a great time. All the charactors came over to visit and have pictures done and Alice came and talked to us and we had a blast. They even signed my sisters autograph book. Go for it!

he's right, you know!

my advice: do what you want! it's disney, don't worry about what other people think. it's your vacation too. disney is just as much for the kids as it is for the adults!

Well I don't where ears like that but I where shirts with Flower the Skunk on them, I have a Bambi and a Thumper shirt and a Dumbo shirt and a shirt with Alice on it. I have lots of Flower shirts. I have one shirt with little Flower on it that says " I'M SHY AND I'M CUTE " I am always a little Child no matter where I am at. For one thing I will always be Flower's little Child :) I know I am 6'3 and Flower is a very tiny tiny little skunk so in size he is the little one :o * I love saying stuff that makes me feel embarrassed * But Flower is so much older than me Bambi came out in 1942 and I was born in 1977 so that is why I am the little child that Flower loves so much

Thanks for all your replies. It means alot.

Well, I guess that makes the decision for me. Now it's case of where, not if!!

Hardly original, but Mickey is my favourite character (closely followed by those cheeky chipmunks Chip & Dale) so I'll try and book a character meal where I can find him.

Once again, thanks alot!

There's always the breakfast with Chef Mickey at the Contemporary. Mickey, Minnie, and Chip & Dale were present the last time I was there.
