Not sure if this is in the right place or if it should go in trip planning.....

We are heading down in Novemeber and want to do AK (have barely done it on past trips) and was wondering if you can do most/all of it in 1 day. We are doing tues nov. 13 or frid nov16. It is open from 8-5 and we will be there at RD.

I think the places I was thinking would take too long to fit in are rafiki planet watch, nemo, and the other trails. 2 we will not for sure be doing are Kali rapids (unless it is super hot) and primeval whirl.

It will be Myself, DH, And DSs (3 and8). The kids have tons of energy so I am not worried about them going all day. They are 2 crazy boys!

Any thoughts?

Yes, you can. I have done all of the above^^ plus Dinosaur, Everest, and It's Tough to Be a Bug in less than a day. Have fun :)

It would be extremely difficult to do EVERYTHING in a day. You probably could, but you'd have to really have that as your goal and work to accomplish it. And you wouldn't be able to spend a ton of time looking at exhibits.

It can certainly be done. THat being said we usually need 2 days because DD spends hours in Camp Minnie Mickey meeting all the characters. so as long as you avoid that one day should be plenty of time. I would suggest skipping Rafiki's especially if you've seen it. try to see Nemo if you've never seen it, it's really good, but it does take up a lot of time hence why DD has yet to see it. The trails don't take too long so you should be able to fit at least one of them. Also, if you want to save time see if EE has the single rider line open, you all won't get to ride together, but it can be much faster than stand by and it doesn't waste a FP assuming you will be using them for KS and dinosaur. Good luck and enjoy!

It really depends on the crowds that day and what you consider do be "doing it all." If you want to do every single attraction and include time to slow down and enjoy the scenery (which many people will claim is part of a full day at DAK) then it'll take you more time. That being said, I have done DAK numerous times in less than an entire day, but I skip most of Dinoland and Rafiki's Planet Watch - and I always take advantage of EMH.

I am not sure how everyone gets through AK so fast. I say a full day to 1 1/2 days. I have to believe that many people are just hitting the main rides and hitting the road. There is soo much more to AK (and other Disney parks) than just the rides. Rafiki's Planet Watch can be 1/2 day if you hit it early when the vet's are doing surgury and other proceedures. Also in the morning there are quite a few small seminars that happpen where they will have small animals out talking to kids about them. My daughter loves Planet Watch, in the moring because the afternoon it is really light on activities. With the 2 kids, don't forget about the Boneyard. I know mine will spend an hour easily and want more time if we would let her. It is also a good spot for the kids to get out on their own and explore since there is only one way in or out through the entry gate. We will hang by the gate and give her a 10 minute check-in requirement and it works well for us. Also with kids there is the Kid's Discovery Club where the children search, explore and do fun games with a CM. There are about 6 locations throughout the park and the kids are encouraged to complete all of them for a prize. The Discovery Club is somewhat similar to what the Kidcot Stops in Epcot used to be when they had more of an educational flare.

You can basically cut you visit to AK back to what you want, but for me personally, I love AK and it is every bit a day and a half park.

6 rides (EE, Dino, TTS, PW, KRR, KS)
4 shows (FN, FotLK, iTtbaB, FoW)
3 walking trails (MJT, DI, PFET)
Rafiki's Planet Watch
Bonyard
Jingle' Jungle Parade
Streetmosphere (Bands, Divine, Drummers, dance party)
Character M & G's

You can do it in one day if you do not do shows. If you want to experience every attraction offered, one day will not suffice.

If you just want to do rides, then you can.

You can pick your top 10 things you want to do, eat only counter service and see those 10 things from opening to closing. You won't see everything, but you can see a decent amount of things if you are there are rope drop.

We can easily get through AK in less than a day, but we don't do "everything". If you wanted to do literally everything then I doubt you could do it in a single day. AK is a HUGE park with lots of little shows and performances that you could easily miss if you weren't walking by at the right moment. My advice would be to try and plan out the "must do's" (see what I did there :)) and whatever time you have left just spend exploring the park.

I think you can definitely do everything in AK in one day so long as you work around the times of the shows (Finding Nemo and Festival of the Lion King) and utilize Fastpasses for attractions that would have longer lines (Expedition Everest and Dinosaur).

Yes....you most definitely can do all the attractions and see the park within one day. We are typically done by 2-3pm at AK if we start at EMH
