Can you do all of AK in 1 day?

The big problem that causes most people to miss out is that not everything is listed on the map as an attraction. You need to take the time to look around, explore and maybe even get a little lost. The park was designed for meandering, not going from attraction to attraction.

Thank you all for the advice! We have only ever done the safari, EE and birds of Wonder once. I may skip some of the trails or the train and hit them if there is time. I think the 3 yr old may get sick of the stroller if we "tour" that much. I am looking forward to seeing if I like the park aside from what little I have seen.

I was lucky enough to see Devine once though. She was amazing!

I am not sure how everyone gets through AK so fast. I say a full day to 1 1/2 days.

I agree wholeheartedly. That being said, here is a 'plan' that will get you to most things if you ONLY have one day to be in Animal Kingdom. You'll have to run around and you will certainly miss some of the subtlety and enjoyment that is Animal Kingdom. The one thing you really have going for you is visiting at a very low crowd time of year.

8am - Get FPs for Expedition Everest at park opening and immediately book to...
8:15 - Kilimanjaro Safari
8:45 - Maharaja Jungle Trek (could last an hour, but could be 'seen' in 30 minutes)
9:15 - Back to Everest to use FP
9:45 - Walk to Dinoland and do Dinosaur (that time of year/time of day should have short wait)
10:30 - in line for Finding Nemo: The Musical
11am - Finding Nemo
11:45 - Triceratops Spin and Primeval Whirl (again, lines shouldn't be too bad that time of year)
12:30 - lunchtime, Restaurantosaurus is the easiest, but Flame Tree is nearby also
1:15 - It's Tough to Be a Bug
2pm - Flights of Wonder - you may not get a great seat, but you could squeeze in right at 2pm
2:30 - If it is warm enough, this is the time to do Kali River Rapids
3pm - Train to Rafiki's Planet Watch and Conservation Station
3:45 - Train back to Pangani Forest Trail (again could last an hour, but could be 30 minutes)
4:15 - Walk to Camp Minnie Mickey for...
4:30 - Festival of the Lion King Show
4:55 - As you are being herded out of the park, check out what you can of the Discovery Island Trails

You miss the parade (as a huge Parade of the Art-imals fan, the current parade just depresses me) and no time to visit characters, but you hit the 'attractions.'

Do I recommend it, NO. Is it possible, I suppose so, but it will be a hectic day. If you have the chance, allow for another half day and spread that stuff out!! I'm not sure how closely that plan lines up with the 1 day AK Touring Plan, but if I only had one day and only cared about the big stuff that is what I would do.

Yes you definitely can do any park in one day really, but me personally- I stay open to close. Yes, maybe I'm crazy and my girlfriend will probably go crazy. I guess I feel as if I've only been twice and most likely wont visit for another year or two; might as well stay as long as I can!:D

I guess it depends on your likes and dislikes. If you want to explore all the little ins and outs you can go a full day for sure. But for us it ends up being a half day at best, partly because we have been there so many times before. I love the AK but it needs a few more things before I will call it a full day, until then I think if you are in by open you can be out by 3 or so.

I would honestly suggest looking at the attractions and shows you definetly know you want to see and experience. Spend a day doing those. If you feel like you didn't have enough time, go back on another day. But I have a feeling you will leave the first day completely satisfied that you got what you wanted out of the park.

You can very easily do all of Animal Kingdom within a day.....or actually, within half a day. Having been there many times, I already know what stuff is worth seeing so I hit those, sometimes multiple times, in just a few hours before I'm ready to move on. It would almost be a wasted day to spend the entire day there. Until Avatarland comes to reality, AK is still pretty short on attractions.

Easily. You could fit in Rafiki's Planet Watch easily, and if your children love animals I recommend going because there's a petting zoo. You could also probably do Primeval and Kali if you wanted too. I've don't everything in 7 hours so yes, 1 day is enough

Take advantage of EMH early and stay all day, then you can possibly see it all. Also use fast passes if the lines are longer than 20 minutes. Get a schedule to make sure you plan out the times for shows and stopping for a quick bite to eat. Not too many "sit down" restaurants to make reservations for, but if you do, make sure to plan that out too.
Last visit, we really took time to look around more and walk, but I was exhausted!
We skipped Camp Minnie Mickey trails meet n greet, Lion King Show, and Nemo ( all had been seen before). We rode the "rides" , what little there are, twice and had a blast!
Enjoy it any which way you can!:D

Not sure if this is in the right place or if it should go in trip planning.....

We are heading down in November and want to do AK (have barely done it on past trips) and was wondering if you can do most/all of it in 1 day. We are doing tues nov. 13 or frid nov16. It is open from 8-5 and we will be there at RD.

I think the places I was thinking would take too long to fit in are rafiki planet watch, nemo, and the other trails. 2 we will not for sure be doing are Kali rapids (unless it is super hot) and primeval whirl.

It will be Myself, DH, And DSs (3 and8). The kids have tons of energy so I am not worried about them going all day. They are 2 crazy boys!

Any thoughts?
Me I can spend two days in DAK. But then I usually have ten days at WDW.

Whatever you do, and why I'm writing this reply, don't skip the Pangani Trail and Maharadja Trek! Not with active boys their age! They will love it!
The treks don't take long at all - as long or as short as you wish, from less than ten minutes to say an hour. They are totally worth it, the boys will love the Indiana Jones aspect of it all. Depending on whether I get their character and likes somewhat correct, of course. At their age they may not be into birdwatching, but tigers in an Indian ruin, and gorilla's in an African gorge, what's not to love about that!

Oh great! Thanks for the advice! I think they will like those for sure. I will add them!

Thank you for the plan! I appreciate it! I can adjust the couple of things we can't do/may not need to do! I don't think my back can take primeval whirl! I hear it is pretty rough.

That is an awesome plan. And it is also exactly why I could never do DAK in one day.

All one does is run around, missing the subtlety and atmosphere and little delights of the park. Not to mention, one has to be at the park from opening to close, with justa quick lunch thrown in. What of having an ice cream and enjoying a few exhibits?

It is all possible, but so not my way of enjoying a Disney park.

all (ôl)
adj.
1. Being or representing the entire or total number, amount, or quantity

You can do all the rides, shows and view the scenery within six hours.

AK has over 20 attractions including the shows; FotLK, Nemo Musical and Flights of Wonder.

Let's just use 20 for round numbers. 6 hours is 360 minutes. 360 divided by 20 gives you 18 minutes for each attraction.

This does not account for the time it takes to get from one attraction to the other and does not include Mickey's Jungle Jammin' parade - or heaven forbid, you may actually want to stop and get something to eat. Then there are bathroom breaks - maybe a meet and greet, some shopping, maybe sit and enjoy the scenery or some of the performers in Africa, have a beer, take a few pictures, look for Devine, perhaps the kids may want to do a few of the educational things scattered throughout the park; scratch your nose, breath.

If you can do ALL that EASILY in 6 hours, God bless you because it would truly be a miracle.

Whole-heartedly agree again. Last visit we spent almost an hour just hanging out behind Flame Tree BBQ enjoying the peace, local fauna, and serenity of the setting. Two visits ago it was an hour sitting calmly at the Dawa Bar seating area enjoying beverages and talking to the CMs. But we have also had whirlwind tours where we try to hit all the high impact highlights, so I shared that kind of plan.

Haha calm down, jeez

If you cut out these and you'll be fine:
