Jealous of what, pretending to be a poseur on the internet like Spirit? You haven't seen ****. No one on this thread has.

That's cute. Guess what? I've seen them too. I'm looking at the floorplan of a gigantic building with a 3-floor soarin-like attraction, a huge queue with a FP bypass queue, and a portion of a boat ride entering on the northeast corner.

Granted, 74's original comment about it being out for bid isn't entirely true. It's out for budgeting by trusted contractors. Disney needs to know how much it will cost to build what they've drawn so far. But they're easily $100,000 into design of this mini-land. These aren't napkin scribbles. These are detailed conceptual plans.

There are at least 5 people that have posted in this thread that have seen the plans. Get over it.

I guess you can make it 6 now.

Which makes me wonder, for those who have "seen the plans": would this be a static ride where you are just sitting in front of a screen or will your vehicle move? If it is something more like Spiderman or Potter where the vehicle moves in addition to high quality images on the screens, then I think it could be very impressive and not really akin to Soarin'.

But I get the sense that this is just Soarin' with better video. Is that right?

It's not clear what the ride "vehicle" will be at this point, but based on what I see, it will be Soarin-like. But it may indeed have seats mounted on a moving platform. Definitely has large screens. And definitely will be 3-D.

I saw some on toilet paper too

That's probably what it's worth, anyway.

Just one serious comment before calling it a night (or on this thread anyway), I am convinced this was leaked on purpose despite it coming and going to different individuals.

Disney is desperate to drum up support and they can't just drop the plans off with Loveable Lou or even the truly loveable Deb Wills.

They need it to look so secret, but while I won't put them up here, if someone links to the plans I wonder if Disney will even go through the motions of asking Steve to take them down. They want the chatter and the talk on this subject, especially with the Fantasyland opening generating a lot of ''it's very nice, but there isn't much to it'' comments and UNI about to wow with its Transfomers announcment -- can you imagine Disney having an inpark, open to fans major announcement? No, neither can I.

This is designed so we start talking about the project they are planning instead of how Mermaid is plastic with the queue being better than the ride or how FP+ is going to ruin many vacations or how many great things UNI has planned.

I'm not 100% sure about this. I know Disney like to leak things, but having reviewed these drawings and narratives, they did a remarkable job of disguising the identity of the end product. There's not one word in any of these documents that would lead anyone to firmly say these are for Avatar. They depict a ride facility and descriptions of other components of a new land, but the theme could be anything - just re-purpose the drawings and apply a completely different theme/franchise/story.

Remember those plans that came up a while back of the multi level soarin type attraction that moved to different screens on different levels? Could that be this?
Sort of.

I understand the concern. TWDC has let the WDW fan base down over the last several years. I also understand that, at $400 million, there is concern that TWDC is doing this "on the cheap". IMHO, they are following the WWOHP playbook. No matter how wonderful you think WWOHP is, it is essentially one new E-ticket attraction, one rethemed restaurant, and a couple of new stores. (Sorry but I don't even count the rides formerly known as Dueling Dragoons or Flying Unicorn, which are essentially the exact same attractions as before.) One extremely well-executed land and Uni's entire fate has turned around. I can only assume TWDC thinks they can do the same with Avatarland. And please, before you start jumping all over it, can you wait until it's actually completed before writing that it stinks?

My thoughts exactly! I have been thinking the same thing since WWOHP has been built!! 2 of the rides are the same ones we rode for years before but just rethemed is all....duh! So all they really built was 1 new ride and a new land....so if Avatar does come about at least they are building new rides!!! and not just moving 2 others from another park and retheming them even if they make a similiar Soarin...at least it's a whole new ride and not the same....glad you posted this!

Some have suggested that the Soarin' ride is or might be similar to the Iron Man ride set for DL. Can anyone point me to rumors about that ride? What kind of Tech or ride mechanics are we talking about?
