My heart sinks every time I remember what the Jews went through in the Holocaust... yet I was born in the 80’s. “Remembering” history doesn’t have to mean you were there firsthand.

Try again.
You were there? if not your correct response should be "My heart sinks when I recall what I read about the holocaust" or "My hearts sinks when I RECALL what I SAW on History channel about the holocaust" so...no. You try again. Or if you a normal person can just say " Thinking about the history of the holocaust just breaks my heart. "

I can guess you knew what the poster meant when they said “I remember...” There’s no point in getting caught up in things like that.

I didn't actually. The way he worded it made him seem like he was either old enough to know Walt or the Disney family to know this or was there. It's a confusing and improper statement to make quite frankly. But I am bored of the subject now and my point has been made.

I really like this dark ride.
The 'Pleasure Island' segment is especially fun.....

Seriously, i look forward to riding this a couple of times at least during a visit to Disneyland.
I do enjoy these 'traditional' Attractions quite a bit.
Plus 'Pinocchio' is my favorite Disney animated film.

:)

We're also in an era of major trolling. So I wouldn't automatically jump to this conclusion just yet. I know its a sensitive subject for some when it comes to changes around the Parks. But that is the point of these trolls, to get a massive rise out of a group of Park fans. So I say we calm down a bit here and ride this thing out. It may end up being a whole big nothing burger.

It stopped being much ado about nothing when Splash was sacrificed.

He/She absolutely did. Some folks have nothing better to do than stir the pot. Of course, we can all use the ignore function because that's easier than someone just learning how to be a better poster/person.

Hi, it's me again. I was legitimately curious about people finding Stromboli offensive because it seems there are a lot of Disney characters being considered offensive nowadays. The Brers and Jose from the Tiki Room immediately come to mind.

This is part of a larger discussion best not had here. However if you live long enough or try hard enough you can find any Disney character offensive. The question is to what extent and are those characters part of a larger example of disparagement toward another group of humans.

I will happily amend my comments to say, "I remember reading about..." Walt's childhood, if it is an issue for forum readers. No offense or pretense on my part was ever intended.

I will also happily say, after the constant ranting about a ramp to walk onto the Milllenium Falcoln and now this, I'm gonna pull a Logan in the first X-Men film, and say, "1HappyGhostHost...you're a @#$%."

I’ll just leave this here... It does seem
a can of worms has been opened for online trolls with this Splash Mountain announcement.

Pfft. Needs a more popular IP...

My dad lost his eye in an accident and finds this character offensive and feels like Pixar was making fun of him.
