So, I can dress like Naomi from Mama'a Family but not Elly May from Beverly Hillbillies?

Not really up on Southern style, what with being from the evil North.:p

Actually it wont matter what you wear as soon as you order the waiter will know your a yankee and tell the cooks to spit in your food. But don't worry, they wont be rude... its the civility of the south... spit in your food and still act like they care.

Well, as long as they're polite about it...

For those of you who may not know, apparently, Disney has slightly relaxed the definition of "business casual" to now include T-Shirts. I saw this on allears.net:

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Effective July 1, 2007, Disney modified its Business Casual Dress Code at its premier restaurants to include t-shirts. The guidelines, which originally went into effect July 2005, still prohibit hats, swim suits, swim suit coveralls, tank tops, torn clothing or flip-flops. Suggested attire includes dress shorts, pants, jean pants, collared shirts, blouses, sweaters. Restaurants now requiring Business Casual dress include: Artist Point (Wilderness Lodge), California Grill (Contemporary), Citricos and Narcoossee's (Grand Floridian), Jiko (Animal Kingdom Lodge), Flying Fish (Boardwalk), and Yachtsman Steakhouse (Yacht Club).

EDIT: Sorry, I see Tigsmom beat me to it. I didn't think I remembered seeing that before, but I must have just skimmed the posts previously and missed it.

Sorry for the redundancy.

Is it just me or is the whole concept of "business casual" at a vacation resort a bit wierd. Frankly I think most guy go on vacation so they can get away from the "clothes nazis". Does anyone else think this is a bit much? I mean okay I understand the no swim suits... I can even understand the requirement of shoes... but isn't the idea of a vacation to stop worrying about what you wear?

i totally agree, you go on holiday to enjoy yourself and not have to worry about what your wearing for some food, i agree no offensive stuff or swimsuits etc but what is wrong with a nice pair of shorts and t-shirt and casual sandals, we just dont need this extra worry when it comes to packing and we ourselves are going straight from the park so wont ant to be dressed too stuffy all day.

And there are plenty of places you can go without having to worry about what you wear.

Seeing as how it's next to impossible to get in without having an ADR, let's leave a couple of nicer places alone for those who happen to plan ahead.

I think you missed his point. You often have ADR for places but still plan on going to a park first. SO if Disney is for our enjoyment why create rules that would force a person to take a detour from going straight from MK to whatever fancy pants diner he wants to into going straight from MK to his hotel and then to the fancy pants joint. Using Disneys transportation you would then lose 2 hours of fun just to dress like a penquin... and quite frankly food tastes better when your wearing comfortable clothes and can enjoy it not when your wearing clothes best left for funerals and weddings.

You seem to have issues over this and the 8 or so eateries it would affect, perhaps you should expand your wardrobe beyond the extremes of t shirt and shorts and your favourite fancy pants penguin suite favoured at weddings and funerals or stick to the 97 0r so places that remain unaffected.

Just a thought from a snob, with a collared shirt.

The solution for you is simple...do not go to Signature restaurants during your vacation. They are only a handful so you are not really missing out on much and you still have plenty to pick from.

Personally, I think food tastes better when its properly seasoned and cooked correctly and not when I'm wearing "fancy pants" or comfortable clothes. And wearing a shirt with a collar does not make one a penguin, that would be a tuxedo and nobody is asking you to wear that.

Of course a much more intelligent thought would be for people in restaurant to worry about themselves and the quality of the food they are eating - not what someone at another table is wearing. Last time I check my food tasted the same whether my neighbor was wearing a three piece suit or a Halloween costume.... but hey maybe I'm just lucky that my taste buds are affected by someone else’s clothing 10 yards away.

Just a thought from some one that learned along time ago that the music in an opera sounds the same whether I’m wearing fancy pants or nothing at all.:D

I see snobbery is alive and well.

Intelligent thought? would that include the use of a resturant that dosent have a dress code?
As well as having no dress sense it seems you have little understanding of what affects the human senses, one of which is taste something else you seem to be devoid of.

However keep grinding the axe. I trust youll be understanding when a reesty Dilbert is sat at the next table.

Ah... I'm starting to understand now... you haven't yet learned not to judge a book by its cover... I feel sorry for folks like yourself, unable to enjoy life and what you have unless you can dictate how someone else dresses. If I were judging you by your comments I would have to guess you were either from a rich family with the character of Paris Hilton... or from a poor family that lucked into just enough money to give you a sense that your better than others but not quite enough money to become truly enlightened... But then I'm not judging you... or your comments.:D

I would think after a day in the parks you would want to go back to your room and shower up and get a change of clothes.

You don't sound like a fancy pants kinda guy, maybe California Grill is not your kind of place.

I went there once with a non-fancy pants couple and it was a little uncomfortable.

I'm not saying I'm a fancy pants myself, I just feel it's right to dress to the level of establishment your at.

Hahahaha.
That is exactly what youve done in several of your posts, but Im hardly concerned by the views of an unknown on an internet forum when they seem incapable of forming a cohesive point within their own post.

You have been showing yourself to be a bit of an eejit so Id stick to dinning at home, you dont want to be put off by snobs or wear breeks that dont show your kecks or fancy pants.

Have they no vacancies for you at the Cirque?:D

Many Disney guests enjoy a nice dinner in an establishment where all patrons have dressed for the occasion. If that's not your idea of a good time, dine elsewhere. The option is yours, and Disney provides a wide array of eating establishments with and without dress codes for your convenience. If you don't care to lose any park touring time changing your clothes, don't - eat where is there is no dress requirement. It's very simple.

Not necessarily true. Maybe if it's only YOU wearing nothing at all, and you are sitting somewhere where the singer can't see you, the opera would sound the same.

But what if you are sitting in the front row and the opera singer looks over and sees this dude in his birthday suit? It's probably going to affect the way she sings. Either she'll be turned on and sing a little more vibrantly, or she'll be totally disgusted and won't be able to sing at all, or maybe she'll pass out because the site of you in the raw is just to disgusting to behold.

So I would say that whether or not you have any clothes on could have alot to do with how the opera sounds. :D

Well... your partially correct... I have passed judgement on you... though in respect to grandma's instruction, "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything." I'll keep that judement to myself.;)
