Likewise I didnt fork out $100 + a person to dine next to some sweaty Noo Yoiker in a t shirt with the sleves cut off and a pair of shorts with his hanging out.
The buisness casual look dosent apply to park eateries, so tramp it up there till your hearts content.

It mentions tank tops as not allowed.. now would a sleeveless dress be acceptable? i'm a little worried now, and as far as other nice restaurants are concerned, would le cellier & Wolf Gang Pucks be included in one to dress nice at?

Thanks

I have seen women in sleeveless dresses and many had light sweaters because the restaurants can get chilly (that is what I usually to also). The tanks tops I think they are referring to are those spaghetti strap ones that always seem ready to snap. :lookaroun

Le Cellier is in a park so fancy dress is not expected, park clothes are ok.
I would say the same for Wolfgang Pucks. Many people will dress nicer to head out to dinner so if you choose to dress up a bit (something more than shorts and a tee shirt) you probably won't be the only one.

Actual event from 2004. Puts a bit of a downer on your meal when youve made an effort (aniversary) and you get a table next to some loud mouth whos dressed for a day on the beach, rather than the Calli Grill.

So Aug 2004 was it you:animwink:

So what are considered to be dress shorts? DH does not want to take long trousers. Will a pair of chino type shorts and a short sleeved collared shirt be acceptable with deck shoes?

Believe me with 2 teenage daughters AKA "the style police" -vomit colours are not permitted in our house or wardrobe.

I have 1 @ 20 and 2 teens. Having poor dress sense and being seen in public with them is one of the few pleasures I have left.:animwink:

Sounds like someone has been drinking a little too much from the self-righteous snob fountain.

Someone that appreciates the food at a fine restraunt goes there for the food not to look at or stare at what someone else may or may not be wearing.... And if you want to complain about smelly sweaty people in restraunts try going to London, you'll find lots of very dapper guys wearing suits that smell like skid row bums.

So although I can appreciate your desire to enjoy a meal without the smell of a gym, just as I don't like smelling a cigar while eating.... I have to say your attitude about how people dress belongs in an opera house where the audience is so stuck on themselves that they believe they are part of the performance.

So it was you?

I would hardly call the requirement for wearing a shirt with sleves and a collar opera standard. But I guess youre from Noo YoiKKK

So back to the main topic... I think you would be fine in sandals granted you are wearing something nice and proper clothes. I will often do the Tommy Bahama look.... Very nice but can't really pull it off without a nice pair of sandals. Shoes or sneakers just make it look odd sometimes.

So, I can dress like Naomi from Mama'a Family but not Elly May from Beverly Hillbillies?

Not really up on Southern style, what with being from the evil North.:p
