Well... your partially correct... I have passed judgement on you... though in respect to grandma's instruction, "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything." I'll keep that judement to myself.

To address the less than friendly banter, the bottom line is this:

Disney owns and operates the California Grill. They have chosen to establish a dress code. If you don't approve of the dress code you can either:

a: chose another place to dine which does not have a dress code or

b: write a letter to guest relations

As far as the original question goes:

I think you would be fine in sandals as long as they weren't a flip flop (the dress code mentions flip flops specifically) or thong style.
