Cake castle....

Put me down as another one who enjoyed the cake look. I didn't get to see it in person but I wish I did. I think it's amazing that they were able to do that.

I always thought it was a good idea as a temporary centerpiece for a celebration... But I thought it would have been better had they tried to make it look like a giant cake version of the real castle. Using similar colors and so forth, but making it look completely made from icing.

Like something you would attempt to make as a Cinderella's Castle cake at home. You wouldn't do the Pepto-Bismol pink thing... You'd try to make it using the colors everyone connects with the original building.

I liked the Castle Cake too.

As someone said before I think it made you feel like you were part of that celebration and you really knew a celebration was going on while you were there.

I actually hope they do it again for WDW's 50th.:p

January, 1997

Took my first trip with then fiance' in January 1997. The cake overlay was actually real cake. Sad to say it looked better than it tasted. A little stale by our arrival.

This is why they aren't making Spaceship Earth look like a cupcake for its 25th anniversary...

Cupcake Earth - presented by Betty Crocker :lookaroun

I also liked the castle cake. I saw it when I was around seven or eight years old and enjoyed it in person. I still think its a pretty cool thing now as a teenager. Even if you don't like it, you still have to admit its pretty cool they even did it at all.

Just not pink....how about a nice traditional white cake. (the lights would look much better on white than pink)

Another thing about the cake is that it took away from the forced perspective of the castle, and made it look smaller.
