Urban explorers don't hit homes that people live in. Pretty much everyone in the community considers that to be beyond the pale.

Urban exploration is more about abandoned spaces, caves, rooftops, etc. Not about people's homes. So tired of hearing that downright dishonest comparison which is almost as bad as equating urbex with rape.

Yeah, in a private homeowner scenario, it would be more akin to allowing a bunch of folks to use your fancy barn for an event or wedding reception or something (as WoL has been essentially used as event space recently), but some guest discovers the old abandoned chicken house around back where you keep some old farm equipment you don't use anymore and decides to take a few photos. If I caught them in the act, I might be upset because of the presumption that they might be there to steal or vandalize something and escort them off the property, but if there was nothing damaged or removed and somebody tweeted a few pictures later, I honestly don't think I would be all that upset.

What the BDD kid did in this case was not exploring, it was theft.

Just speaking from my experience working at Star Tours a few years back on my CP, we had several doors that remained intentionally unlocked which led backstage in case we needed to clear the building for an emergency. We also used all of those doors to rotate positions, etc. The important / actually dangerous machinery is locked, but getting backstage to film our dingy little hallways would be super easy. The cameras I had access to were used for crowd control and not backstage security.

That's exactly the case with Body Wars too. It's security system (which has been deactivated for a looooong time now) was used to monitor the bays, sims, and hallways for crowd control. It wasn't really used for security purposes.

Clearly you didn’t understand the point of his comparison. He wasn’t equating the crimes themselves but the justifications for them.

Clearly it was a terrible comparison that should not be made, since motivations are entirely different.

No. He was a dude trespassing in an active facility and stealing. This is not comparable to, say, exploring and documenting a rural school that's been abandoned for half a century.

If you understood the point he was making then you would see that it really wasn’t a terrible comparison. It’s about victim blaming. Obviously the severity of the crime’s are in no way comparable.

Technically anything in Wonders or Life is not abandoned, it’s merely cut off from public access. What’s his name climbing Big Thunder Mountain has nothing to do with anything abandoned and is just straight up trees passing and creating a liability risk to Disney.

Well it is said he had pictures of the clothes in his car or up for sale on his phone so if he didn't take them he is dealing in stolen property.

There's a lift right underneath of Buzzy so maintenance can get to him.
