Build-A-Bear & RideMakerz Closing at Downtown Disney for New Dining

Where Chick-Fil-A shines is with their lemonade, it's really very good. Although their chicken sandwiches are excellent too. The one near me is always packed to the gills with people, and there's an In-N-Out right next door sharing the same parking lot. The drive-thru lanes often battle each other with lots of kids running around in the parking lot taking iPad orders and directing traffic.

I imagine this new burger joint will have patio seating upstairs a la' Naples and Catal. They will need to build a kitchen downstairs taking up a lot of square footage, so most of the dining will need to go upstairs. This building has never been food service, always just retail, so it will take some construction to build kitchen facilities there. It will also be a direct competitor to Uva Bar 20 feet away who does their own burger, and has a darn good Lamb Burger on offer.

Haha I’ve been to the one in Pasadena. I thought their wings were great. I made the mistake of getting the 50/50 burger and didn’t enjoy the texture that comes with a patty made of 50% pork. I think I enjoyed it much more with the all beef patty. But still that truffle burger at Umami is insane.
I thought the 50/50 was ok, my daughter loved it. That being said, it's not worth paying the high price to have that hunk of meat sit in my gut for the next week ; )

Haha So it’s not just me huh? I don’t notice it as much with burgers but I do with a nice big rib eye. Gone are the days where my body would just digest beef overnight. I don’t feel it sitting inside me so much as the feeling that it’s altered my digestive system for a few days.

Those milkshakes look gross. The burgers better be good.
A couple of them look tempting...remind me of the shakes they serve at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium, Citywalk Orlando (pics below). As for the food, I can't fathom taking my family of 4 there for dinner given the prices of those burgers...unless it was a really special occastion.

Oddly enough, I'm just fine with a nice top quality filet but a greasy burger...just sits there. And same thing, my appetite changes and I just can't stomach some foods for a few days after. The downside of getting older I guess.

I think for me it’s the sheer quantity of beef you re getting with a 16- 22oz rib eye even though the quality is good. Compare that too an In-N-Out burger patty that has what, 2oz of beef?

Dang you guys are making me hungry!

In-N-Out's patties are 2oz, which unfortunately means I can never get full off just a cheeseburger.

I've been to Toothsome. The food is good. The milkshakes are eh. You're right. Don't take the family. Super expensive for what it is.

Hahah. I think 2 cheeseburgers no fries is the ticket. Since their fries aren’t great anyway. You could say, well why not a double double? I find the cheesburger has just the right proportions of everything so the flavors are completely balanced. Not so true with the double double. The cheese over powers. Double Single works but still doesn’t have the balance the cheeseburger has.

I for one would appreciate if Flo’s started serving In-N-Out...

Yes. I didn’t like DCA serving McDonald’s all those years ago, but I wouldn’t complain at all if In-N-Out started being served. Even a simple walk-up would be fantastic. The lines would be atrocious, but I always wait in long lines for a double-double, no tomato, regular onion, and pickles with extra spread. YES.

lol. This is taking me back to my high school days when my friends and I had a contest to see how big a burger we could both eat. We both tapped with the 7x7. This is, of course, in the days before they limited it to 4x4 being the biggest. Agree with you though, that their cheese can be a bit overpowering. And I like my fries there a bit undercooked actually (weirdo I know). The best order if they're done just right is a fry-light (lightly cooked) animal style.:happy::happy:
Dangit. Might have to stop there after work now!

Lol wow 7x7! Impressive.

I get the fry light sometimes. Sometimes they go way too light on the fry and it’s more like fry-none

lol, just give me the raw potato with a sprinkle of salt.

And yeah, we would be super hungry after Friday night football games (not that we played or anything..we were in band!) and it just sort of became a habit.

I used to like In N Out Fries...now they are mostly inedible. Always feel like I'm eating a stale potato.

For some reason I feel the locations in the SFV have been stepping it up of late. Still not my favorite fries but I feel that there has been some change in the process or oil they use to make the fries that are making them taste better.
