Now Barnum, If your team wins most of the time, Why not be smug? I think(my opinion) that's part of the fun of being a fan of that particular team. So I am sure that Machester United fans, and fans of other teams that win on a consistant basis have something in common. Our teams allow us that smugness

Well wilted, if you read My post it said I wasn't going anywhere, just leaving this topic alone due to the sheer boredom and monotomy of the subject. ( I mean come on, year after year, after year, the same old story)
And thank you for your support for my 6th grade education this year. I think I am going to ask MY DADDY to buy me a Patriots pencil box to remind me of you KEWL!!!!!!!!!!! HUH!!!!

Well, now, Barnum, that's not entirely fair. There are courteous, humble Yankee fans like tigsmom out there, too, as well as excitable young pups like our little buddy Seano.

It takes all kinds. :)

One more point to make here: Stop abusing the rep system because you don't like being called out. That's twice now. If you don't like what I post, you can respond publicly. The rep system is for abusive posts, not posts that you just don't like because they point out how inconsistent you are or make a joke you don't care for.

That's why I tried to pharase it that it's possible they can be the US equivalant of Man U fans, rather than are.

My apologies for not making that clear enough.

A true sports fan is like Darryl - sticks by his team regarless of their track record. In the UK lots of yobs pick Man U as their team so they get bragging rights, so they are under the misimpression that they are superior to everyone else.

A Red Sox fan can never be accused of following the team to bathe in glory.

And this is why I don't like the Red Sox, but I like their fans. I gotta hand it to Brian and all the other Sox fans here that they follow their team with a passion like no other, and that I deeply appreciate. There is not more I dislike in sports than bandwagon fans.

Gotta respect the Yankees ability, gotta hate the Yankees entirely. Like Darrel, I am saddled with POOR TEAMS - the Reds and (once again) the Bungles. Still a fan, but with much lower expectations.

At least I can root for College Hoops - Go CATS!!! :sohappy:
