We had the pork sliders (they were great, IMO), then we had a few impossible burgers (or whatever they're called), again, great. and we also had the loaded mac and cheese which we both liked. So far, F&W has been good to us!

I love her t shirt.

We rode Soarin' and then stopped at Canada pavilion for a proper beer.

We stopped in the Guerlain shop so she could pick up some kind of make up. C is a freelance skin care specialist for Chanel and has done some work for Guerlain so she knows their products. The store was filled with tire kickers so the employee who helped her was excited to actually have a customer who knew what they wanted. She made her purchases and we headed back towards IG. I wanted to stop in the sports shop in England and we saw this cool window display.

We made our way back to the resort since it was 430 pm and we still hadn't received a room ready text (shocker). We didnt mind though. We were happy to be on vacation. We got to the front desk and asked if I room was ready and the cast member checked and noticed we hadn't received a text or the room was not assigned yet. She apologized and we told her it was not a problem. We chatted for a few minutes while she made a phone call and she was very sweet and upgraded our room for the delay and added three extra fast passes for all of us for the morning. We told her it was not necessary but she insisted. Can't argue with that lol.

Is that T-shirt from GotG?

After shopping on MSUSA R said he wanted to ride the monorail. It was getting hot and we were ready to hit the room for a break so we hit the resort line and then transferred to Epcot. R asked me if the monorail went to Star Wars Land because he wanted a light saber. I told him that the monorail was taking us to Target and that's where he could get one. He gave me a stern look and said, "no, the real lightsabers are at Wal Mart"!! The whole monorail cabin was cracking up.

Upon arriving at Epcot R was completely tuckered out and we knew he wouldn't be able to walk to Boardwalk so we caught an Uber.

He got a kick out of the cucumber water in the lobby and the hidden Mickey it contained. He loved the water and had several cups.

After a relaxing break at the room we made our to the studios and headed straight to Star Tours so he could make his own lightsaber. As much as his dad wanted to get him the lightsaber from SWGE, he figured that R would somehow destroy since he is 6 years old and the old fashioned lightsaber was just as impressive to R so he might as well save $160.

Now the he was armed with a light saber, we were ready for Galaxy's Edge!

Really great pro tip!! Will likely use this on our next trip!! Thank you for this!! Cannot really justify a $200 light saber for a 5 year old....

After the Falcon we started heading to Toy Story so we could ride Midway Mania and then return to Galaxy's Edge after the sunset. On our way out is when the first magical moment happened. We passed Chewbacca and out of nowhere he stopped and walked directly to R. We hadn't said anything to him. He just stopped and came over. He pointed to R's buttons (birthday and first visit buttons) and made some Chewbacca sounds. The CM' said he needed help getting to the Falcon safely. Of course we agreed.

A few other kids randomly joined along the way when their parents told them to follow Chewie but R was much more interactive with Chewie and we could tell whoever was "playing" Chewie was getting a kick out of it. View attachment 416666

We got him to the Falcon safely and he thanked all the kids. R just went right in for the hug.

The whole experience lasted several minutes as he ducked around corners and avoided Storm Troopers on the way. As we made our way out of the land we were all smiles and talkin about how much fun it was to have such an interactive experience and even as adults simply watching it was just fun. We thought we were pretty lucky for him to have stopped and selected R randomly. little did we know that experience would be nothing compared to what happened later on...

Not to get soap boxy, but this is a really cool experience that you got to have!! If you planned your trip down to every minute, you wouldn't have had time for all the magic!! With how much everyone on this forum seems to plan, it's so incredibly cool to see these moments happen, and for your family to allow them to happen.

After Toy Story, R wanted to ride the Falcon again so we headed back towards SWGE. We went around the entrance by the Droid shop and a Strom Trooper stopped R and questioned him about his lightsaber.

Rey came out of nowhere and snuck behind them and then Chewie had a group of people blocking the Storm Troopers from seeing him as well. One of the Troopers spotted him and they took off after them. Everybody ran after them, including us. It was crazy. I got it in film and I'll upload it later.

They got to the Falcon and Chewie and Rey got behind the barrier wall. A few people were taking pictures of them and Chewie spotted R and recognized him from earlier. He kept motioning to Rey to come over. When she did they had a shirt back and forth for a few moments with R

It was just awesome to watch them interact with R as he explained to Rey that he would help them fight the Storm Troopers

Then Chewie whispers into Rey's ear amd she nodded her head and looked back at R. We didn't know exactly what was happening. Then she tells R to follow her as she walked to the entrance of the barricade. She steps out and takes R by the hand.

They walked over to a quiet corner and Rey Chewie kneeled down to R's level. We just sat their in awe of what was happening.

Rey explained to R that she would teach him how to control the force so he could help them defeat the First Order. For several minutes, yes, minutes, not just a quick chat, she spoke with R and gave him a lesson on how to use the Force to make the Storm Troopers leave him alone. She had him close his eyes and told him to feel the Force around him, then Chewie tickled the back of.his neck in a joking manner. It was hilarious. Rey told Chewie to be serious and they continued the lesson. She taught him to wave his hand in a certain motion and say, "leave this area" and it would make the Troopers go away. The girl playing Rey was AMAZING. She was calm and spoke softly and had R completely wrapped up in the magic. It was one of the most emotional moments C and I have ever had at WDW as we watched her and Chewie give R such a wonderful experience. Words cannot describe how great it was.

As they finished, R gave them both hugs and he held on to Rey for several moments. She squeezed him tight and then looked in his eyes and told him to remember that he is "the spark that will light the fire". R gave here a serious head nod and they hugged one last time.

As we left I told Rey and Chewie how much this meant to all of us and that they were absolutely amazing. Rey never broke character but as I said, God bless you two for being so wonderful, she reached out her hand and grabbed mine and gave me a big smile. Chewie then grabbed my hand with both paws and gave me what I assume was a thank you in Wookie language. It was a great moment with them.

Chewie and Rey headed back stage and we walked off with out jaws on the floor. What's crazy, is that this would not be the last of our magical moments in SWGE....

Ctd...

We headed over to board the Falcon and as we entered we had a fun exchange with one of the CM's. As we went through the entrance he asked, "do you guys want to ride again when you exit"? Of course we said yes, and he hands us this little beauty...

I told R that I was gonna bring him to Vegas because he was good luck!

We had a great time riding twice in a row and we thanked Josue as we left. It was late and R wanted to ride the gondola before we went back to the room so we headed towards SWGE exit....but we experienced even more magic on the way out...

R's dad wanted a thermal detonator come bottle so we stopped at the Droid/Cole stand. There was a short line so C and I took R to the side. Then, who comes around but Chewie. He stops and throws his arms up when he sees R.

IMG_20191005_211544.jpg

R rushed hopped down and showed him that he had been practicing his "leave this area" force technique". Chewie takes his hand and off we go!

We had no idea what was gonna happen this time. At this point we were just shaking our heads in amazement.

We strolled for awhile and finally found Rey. They gathered up a few other children and found an open area.

They lined up the kids amd played the old "phone game" where you whisper a message to the person next to you and pass it down. It was hilarious as they played around and Chewie of course was being silly.

They took pictures with everybody and then we headed out with our minds completely blown. It was just an absolutely awesome evening. With all the price hikes and cost cutting Disney has done over the least year that has happened, this was truly a reminder of why we love this place and how magical it still is and will always be to us!!

I laughed out loud at the "Convoy" reference. Have not heard that one in 30 years, but appropriate considering that truck.
It finally cooled down a bit here in Georgia and you are in Florida. Oh well, hopefully the record heat here is over for this year. Now, we just need some rain.

Day 2...

The gondolas crashed shortly before we exited HS and we were unable to ride them. Not only does the crash itself make us not want to ride them now, but the stories of people being stuck over 3+ hours while waiting to be rescued doesn't make it any better.

We took the walk back to the resort and called it a night. It was a great day with family.
