It was a sarcastic question, because we have photographic proof they are clearing the land and permits have been filed to begin at the very least preliminary work. So...while obviously it is not a done deal until we observe vertical construction, I think we have a MORE than reasonable confirmation that work is indeed progressing as if it is happening.

That and we have absolutely no indication from our insiders that it won't happen. I think those who are questioning this are cynical at best and grasping at straws at worst.

I trust steel...once I see it, you're committed ;)

And real men love steel ;)

I think you missed out a couple of words!

In my opinion if they can’t do ride they should at least have another circlevision film, but then again Disney might actually see this and go through with it, just kidding of course

Yep...and the Brazilian economy - including their businesses - will fall with next global recession...which makes the idea of building a pavilion silly from the start - in longterm perspective.
I don't think it has to matter whether Brazil goes through an economic crisis beyond whether Disney can expect their sponsors to keep paying the bills. Even there, as long as they get money to build the pavilion they may not care. For example, Mexico plunged into economic crisis just as EPCOT Center opened in 1982 and again in 1995/6 without it meaning anything for the Mexico pavilion. I believe in that case Disney committed to building the pavilion before attracting sponsors and they ended up with José Cuervo, the Moctezuma brewing company (with their Dos Equis brand), and Mexico City's San Ángel Inn restaurant as 1982 sponsors. In other words, the sponsorship model was largely based on selling food and booze to Americans and not particularly reliant on things going well in Mexico.

I have no idea what their plans are for the Brazil pavilion, but as long as Brazil continues to exist as a country I don't see any big reason why its inclusion in World Showcase should be affected by the country's ongoing (and, I agree, likely to worsen) economic and political problems. I'm sure they could fund the pavilion on sales of caipirinhas, overpriced steaks, and Havianas alone.

In practicality...what's the difference?

He was was the happiest guy on earth when it was $122 - thinking It was headed to $150 - and has been a tad surely since...

Stock watchers can't seem to decide if disney is:

1. The most stable thing ever
2. A house of cards
3. A volatile mixture of both

2 of those are disasterous for CMB.

Remember: espn has comprised basically 40% of their walkaway PROFIT...not revenue...

That's a hell of a "writeoff"
2. - You can feel the world us on a financial bubble.

I know. They will panic on Wall Street. Stocks tank. The rich buy the stocks back at a bottom price. Stocks go back up.

After the housing crash...I spent a couple of years doing this "crazy" thing called reading to try and understand what happened.

The takeaway from most that own the world or analyze it wasn't that they lied, cheated and gambled on housing and insurance - it was that they waited too long and didn't jump ship before they ran aground.

...I don't think that will happen again. Bubble, parachute, and destruction is now the "free market"...and joe public will slide into the abyss.

To big to fail is a awesome movie. Covers the crash.

The only way to see if anything was going on would be @bioreconstruct. Would dismantaling the temporary buildings for the performing arts require a permit @danlb_2000? We were told with the closure of The Circle of Life that it'd be used for performing arts while Brazil was under construction, since the temp buildings are in the way.

Nothing has been done back there from what I know.

It probably would, but it would be a notice of commencement which have been very vague recently so I might not notice it. I would think any new pavilion would require a South Florida Water Management district permit.
