Actually I don't have a problem with aquariums at all. It's just Sea World in particular.

I’m sure you’ve hear this before, but SeaWorld does a lot of good.. and they’ve been doing a lot of good even before the pseudo documentary Blackfish was released.

I’m not saying your views come from the movie.. I do always need to stick up for SeaWorld though.. I think they’ve received a ton of unfair criticism based on that film.

Never even heard of that documentary.

Nope, just based on the fact that animals should not be in a performing circus type show. Birds of prey displays are somewhat different, although I feel uneasy about them too.

Nothing against zoos, or conservation projects or anything. I fully support them actually.

TDO: WHAT $44!?! We can't afford that the entire cost of the pavilion is half that spread out thre length of the 5 fiscal year construction timeline!!!

Also TDO: But be sure to add that churro nugget booth. Nothing says Brazil like $15 churro nuggets!
.... what is a churro nugget?

O'hana has a similar "meat, meat and more meat" menu. Last time, we were there (Nov 2016) it was about $45 each. There will probably be a "premium," because the new restaurant will be in the park. My guess at least $50, maybe $55 an adult.

There are two rodizio style restaurants in my areas. Both have extensive salad and side dish buffets to distract from the meat. The price (non-Disney of course) is $30-35 a head, plus drinks, plus dessert. There is never room for dessert, and I love flan.
Ohana has a salad and vegetable dish, of course you don’t want to fill up on that. They also brought out a hummus setup when we had a vegetarian in our group.

I hope it was in reference to an Australia section coming to AK and not EPCOT... would be awesome to see a bunch of new animals added to AK and the Australian variety would be a nice fit... I always think more of the landscape and the nature and less of the culture and food and merchandise when I think of Australia...

Armcheering, I think Australia would be great. However, I doubt this ever happens. People would expect an animal aspect of this land, and the cost of acquiring animals is too much. And if they do build Zootopia... wouldn't that be on the land for Australia?

I believe you meant "bunch of new ways to die". If the internet has taught me anything about Australia, anything and everything is out to kill you.

I only joke. Australia would be a great addition to either park!

The cost of acquiring animals would not prevent Australia from being built.

Hopefully they won’t build Zootopia

Isn't the cost of animals that caused DAK to overrun budget originally?

Zoos are always expensive - that's why generally speaking they are publically run...

But if you want to know why AK cost a cool $1.8 on a Stated budget of $800....start your search below...
