Yeah...I can see how that would be advantagous...but not everything that I pay can be automatic...so, I'd rather pay them all by mail, then have half go online and half not. It keeps it so my sanity is safe.

And I wouldn't have missed the pmt, but they mailed them in a group of 3 last time. After years of it being mailed individually. It's easy to see how someone could forget the first month.

And I really just needed to vent...it was just so angering to know that all of it could have been avoided, had the few things that should have happened (on their end, yet I'm the bad guy since I accidentally missed one payment...when I haven't missed any other ones ever...) have happened.
Nibbs did you ask them if your second payment goies for next month. Sometimes they will just put it as an extra payment to the balance. and they will still be expecting a payment next month.

Quick hello before I tutor.

Nibbs, we had the same thing happen to us with a Discover bill. They called us after I had sent the payment, and insisted that I had to give them my checking account number over the phone because it supposively would take a week to process the check (I forgot to mail the check 'til the day the payment was due, so I assumed it would be late). I reluctantly did that, but I was told later that no way should you do that. You just tell them that your attorney will handle this for you and ask their name, and it usually shuts them up.

Hello. Popping in and read this:

I haven't read the whole situation, but this is DEFINITELY right. One should not give out one's personal banking information to a creditor/collector.

Well...crap...:(

Well, it's been done now...I'll do it for the next time, I guess. (Well, not that there should be a next time...)

I just read back, Nibbs, and you should be fine. It's giving out personal banking information to collectors that's the bad thing. You don't want those guys having control over your bank account in any way. But since this is the company you seem to have used for a while to make your monthly payments to, it's no big deal I don't think.

But yeah, I'm a big fan of automatic bills pay. We don't have debt payments, but I can't even imagine paying the payments we do have with checks all the time. I mean, I guess I did when I first graduated college, but with the mortgage and utilities, etc. I'd totally miss one on accident!

As much as I hate bills I like getting them in the mail. Some I do online but most I do snail mail.

Nibbs did you see what I said about the 2nd payment. I had that happen to me on my Disney bill.
Yeah...sorry...

they said the payment that I just made today (well the two...one by mail and one by phone...) will be put into effect for the past bill and the next month's bill...
