Heart and prayers go out to all of the victims and their families involved in this horrible tragedy.

Does anyone know what effect this will have on the parks? I don't think it's likely they will close the parks tomorrow but definitely step up security. Anyone In the parks today (4/15) know if anything was announced?

I would expect more invasive inspection at the gates. I suspect the Boston component was TATP. If so, very difficult to catch with so many people.

Nothing was announced and security was noticed being more active in the background. I wont get into the specifics of what was passed onto me, but security was heightened.

There's nothing more to be frightened about tomorrow as there was yesterday. Enjoy your vacation.

(I wont get into my opinion of your question; I just suggest you read in this article about eight-year-old Martin Richard of Dorchester, Mass. Its midway down. All he wanted to do was hug his dad at the finish line....)

I bet there will be more security at Disney Marathons when they happen. Prey for the family and people killed and hurt at Boston Marathon.

This was such a shock to have happened. I suspect that tdo will have picked up their security, though they are not going to make it apparent to guests. The worst case scenario that could happened at tdo would be someone leaving something on one of the ferries.

I'd imagine security will be beefed up everywhere.

Here in Pittsburgh, there's already reports of the Pittsburgh Marathon (may 5th) being padded with 350 extra security guards than initially anticipated.

I can't... I just can't even.. It's things like this that make me want to be a hermit and have no part of society.

Speaking as a proud Bostonian, I am still reeling from what happened. Most of my life, I spent Patriot's Day at the marathon and/or the Red Sox game...a personal tradition. Well, now that I am older and a family man, my trips into the capital city are fewer than ever. I was happily watching TV and enjoying the festivities when the seemingly surreal happened. My wife and I looked at each other in horror as the chaos unfolded before us. I remember chatting online with my mom earlier in the day wishing I could be in Boston yesterday, and while I now am glad I was not, I pray for all who were and anyone effected by the bombing. I hope the responsible parties are brought to justice and we as Americans stay strong and united.

I didn't watch the coverage or look at the pics. Just don't want to see it.

But I have said several prayers for those affected. I pray that they'll be granted strength, eventual peace and that something really good happens for them.

I couldn't agree more with this.

I'm from NJ and a lifelong yankees fan, no rivalry here from us to you, only thoughts and prayers to your city

Patriots Day in Massachusetts is one of the greatest days to be in Boston. Not only do you have the marathon but you also have one of the most sought-after Red Sox tickets of the year. It's the earliest start of the season and it's a Boston tradition that the Red Sox play at Fenway on Patriots Day.

People that steer clear of the city for the majority of the year use Patriots Day as a nice family day to actually go into the city and just be there due to the buzz and good vibes.

Personally, I was extremely close (I had planned on Friday) to going to the Sox game and then heading on over to watch the marathon with my wife and daughter. Luckily, my wife's new company didn't give her Patriots Day off so I opted to stay home.

Forever this joyous, festive, fun day in Boston will always have a black cloud over it. Knowing the Bostonian attitude though, there will probably be just as many people there next year...although more security. Knock us down...we brush it off and get back up.

My heart goes out to everybody affected personally and it has personally put me through a rollercoaster of emotions from sadness, to anger, to questioning why, to happiness seeing all of the responders that ran towards the explosion to help rather than running away.

Sad sad day...and one that will never be forgotten.

I'm right there with you. My friends/coworkers were at the game and we were texting each other how I wish I could've been there with them....and then the horror happened. :(

I was at DHS yesterday. In usual Disney fashion you couldn't really notice security, but I did see my first actual security guard in uniform standing on Hollywood Blvd.

My Prayers, thoughts go out to Boston...Everyone there...But like I have posted before, we can not live in fear. That is the exact reaction they are wanting us to have. Yes, security and law enforcement will need to be on alert, but for society as a whole, we must unite, be strong, and move forward.

I really am at a loss as to what to think of the bombings yesterday. Living in CT, I have several friends in the Boston area and several others who ran yesterday (all are fine thank god) which is not more than 2 hours north of here. The amount of damage and pain that the images show is unreal.

Between the Sandy Hook shootings here in CT and now this, you really have to wonder what is going on with this world. We should certainly hug our families tighter more than ever.

My prayers and thoughts go out to the innocent people of Boston who were injured and or even killed during this senseless event.

I go to school in Boston, and yesterday was a rather scary day. As someone who grew up just 30 minutes from NYC after 9/11, some of those old emotions definitely resurfaced. The way Boston has come together after it though, is nothing short of amazing. Sure, there are some terrible people in this world who do terrible things, but they are vastly outnumbered by all that is beautiful and good in this world.

I expect security in the World to be a little tighter, but nothing terribly invasive.

Side note: The tapestry of dreams and Illuminations soundtrack are helpful for relaxation and regrouping after yesterday. And if anyone in the Boston area needs anything, PM me.
