Booking a room this week!

Carey Poppins - Nanny and Disney Enthusiest
Hi All,

So my DH and I have been hoping to get away to Disney for a night or two next month. And it looks like the planets are aligning. I found out today that the family I nanny for is heading to FL for Presidents week. And our next round of IVF won't begin until early March. DH is putting in the request this week for the time off. If he gets it approved, off we go! DH wants two nights but I think one is going to be enough. (i'll wait for everyone to pick themselves up off the floor) :) I know - can you believe I just said that!!! But if we head down from HHI (only 4 1/2 hrs top), we could leave first thing in the morning, and then not return home until really late the next night. I of course would love to stay longer - like forever - but with all that is going on - I just want a night away at WDW. And we missed so much resort time last year that it would be great to just be at the resort all day. So yes - this would be a resort only stay - no parks. I'm full of shockers today aren't I? :) We are leaning towards the Boardwalk. But we have also stayed at YC and loved it and the pool.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

For one night only, my wife and I agree we would pick Wilderness Lodge because it is a great resort to just spend time at, hang by the pools, soak in hot tubs, enjoy the lobby, maybe take a boat ride over to the Contemporary, eat at Whispering Canyon or Artist Point and forget about the rest of the world for a day or two. Hidden Springs pool at VWL may be our favorite place in all of WDW, but don't tell anyone.

Oh, and I guess I should have mentioned, we have been to BW and YC, and while I find getting spit out by the big clown at BW a little weird, we like it just fine. Also been to YC and love, love, love Stormalong Bay, especially the sand bottomed part. You really can't go wrong with any of them.

I love the Epcot resorts, great dining, great pools, nice lobbies, nice lounges, the dueling piano thing at the BW might be fun to catch.. although it would be hard for me to stay at BC or BWI and not enter Epcot at least once for a snack... I like the WL suggestion for all the reasons listed...if it is just one night..how about the GF, live music in the evening in the lobby, some great restaurants, great viewing of the electrical water parade... some nice shops...yes I think the GF is where I would stay if only one night on property...:)

Wonderful! I am excited to hear you are tring a "new/different" Disney experience. You probably know I am partial to Boardwalk, there is so much to offer right on property expecially since you are considering a resort only stay.

What ever you decide, have a wonderful visit!

We have stayed at WL before. I like the fireplaces and the coziness. But I was hoping to be around more action like the Boardwalk. But maybe a winter getaway to the Lodge would be good too. hmmm....

Boardwalk is our favorite...Waterview with balcony a must...the view is priceless at sunset sunrise...ESPN, Jellyrolls...Atlantic Dance Hall all have something to offer..

We have been very lucky and have stayed at the GF 3 times. So we wanted to try something new. :)
Sounds like a great plan! I think Boardwalk sounds like a good choice for you guys.

By the way, the very best of luck to you with your next IVF. :)

Thank you so much! :)

If it were me I would choose the YC! You have access to the pool but you're still next door to the Boardwalk and all the action. You can even catch a glipse of the fireworks from the pool area or walk down to the bridge and watch from there.

Keep us updated on your IVF. I've been thinking about you so much lately. I have my first doctor's appt. in Feb. (I only had to wait 5 months to get it  ).

Thanks so much! And good luck! I will of course keep the updates coming! If you ever want to chat, private message me and I would love to be a support and help in any way I can.
