$lappie had zero theme park experience. Just because he ran P&R doesn't mean he knew anything about them (which he didn't).
I would say most of them don't get it. Even Iger to some extent. There is a reason many of them think the parks are for carnies. I know I bring up other parks a lot but I will say at least their CEO's, and that includes Universal understand their parks for the most part.

'Turning Red' was a dumpster full of 💩 set ablaze. Awful, awful movie.
Apparently it really resonates if you're a Chinese-Canadian woman between the ages of 33 and 35.* They really went after the widest possible demographic.

(I'm obviously being sarcastic, but that was basically the entire source of good press for the movie. The way it captured the experience of Chinese-Canadian tweens in Toronto in the early-00s.)
Obviously the film did something to offend you two, but clearly resonated with audiences in some form given the more aggressive merchandising you're seeing 8 months after its release in the parks. If it wasn't moving the needle, that wouldn't be happening.

Oh damn the critics love it, based.
The worst trend of the current trolling internet era is acting like critical opinion means nothing, or even worse, is somehow indicative of some content actually being bad.

Odd person to be loyal to.

Unless you can self-identify.

To be fair to Kareem, Bob C was the only reason he ever got the position he was in.

Nobody else in their right mind would have made that move.

He may be a smart and competent man (I'm sure he is) but for Disney, it was like putting a plumber in charge of the electrical wiring you're having done for your new house.

Chapek wanted a bean counter and he chose Kareem Daniel.

If "a real hit" equates to about $38 million in total domestic box office, then yes, it would have been a hit.
Actually, it would've been a real barnburner. You can't have it both ways, say "Pixar has lost the way and has no heart," and then dismiss something that is full to brimming with heart, like this, and act dismissive about it. It would've been a hit. Soul would've been a hit. Luca would've been a hit. And that momentum would've made Lightyear big.

I agree. Strange World will flop hard as the marketing has been abysmal, and it looks average at best.

The next Frozen II or Ralph Breaks the Internet. It's probably not great like Zootopia or Wreck it Ralph. Original films typically need to be to draw an audience.

Disney needs quality, not quantity.
Agreed. The reason for the quantity is to fill D+ with content. IMO they need to start putting more of the Fox content on to Disney+ as well more older shows and movies from before 2000
