NASDAQ - YTD -26%
S&P - YTD -16%
WarnerBros - YTD -72%
Netflix YTD -48%
Comcast YTD -32%

You act like Disney tanked in a vacuum... during what is shaping up to be the next big recession and the larger markets have been brutalized all year.
You can cherry pick big loser in any year. But even in your cherry picked handful only Warner sucked more than Disney.

I don't see any possible path where Iger removes Genie+ or Reservations.

I could see him trying to add more value for what we pay for, raise Genie+ costs and lower availability... maybe he reopens Park Hopping fully...

But... I think those two items are here to stay.

We will see.
I agree, 100%. I think the biggest rollback we will see will be the dismantlement of Lightening Lanes. I could see Iger easily folding them in with the price of Genie+ so they can still make their money, and vistors feel like one price tag is being cut.

that’s because the daily itinerary for EPCOT’s VP seems to consist of morning Pilates, a smoothie, dressing like a Millennial, bringing his DSLR to EPCOT for midday shots for the ‘gram, doing a vibe check in WS’s (insert festival of the day), and approving the occasional popcorn bucket.
You mean HER DSLR for midday shots? ;)

She's also of the line of thinking that Epcot is about enabling guests to feel good together and enjoying a collective experience. Apparently that's "furthering Walt's sense of optimism" in her eyes.

Understatement of the year.

Maybe people named Bob aren’t the problem.

Everything about this decision is reactive, panicky, and distressing as to the true state of things now and hope for the future.

Cleaning house on the Board is in order.

In the Board's defense, when you're charged with protecting a company like Disney and have to fire your CEO, replacement is not an easy thing. Yes, Iger was the safe choice, but also probably the correct choice. Who else would know how to run the company from day one in the C-Suite? Was it panicky? Absolutely. Was it also correct? Absolutely. Both can be true. What will be distressing is if Iger isn't gone on November 21, 2024 and a new CEO hasn't been picked to take over for him after being trained by Iger and others in the company on how to run TWDC.

I had sensed she was playing chess, not checkers.

I think there's one thing we can agree on. All of this is the continuing reverberations of Eisner's incredibly idiotic decision to name Ovitz his number two, then give him nothing to do, then let him walk out with that incredibly rich severance. If Iger had been named to the post in 1996, a lot of things would've been different, and Eisner's tenure ending on a happier note.

Citing the indexes and it's peers is cherry-picking? LOL ok... You be you!
Using the nasdaq for a NYSE stock is a stretch... then trying to pretend that Netflix which has how many amusement parks? or Warner with all their amusement parks are peers... Sorry but you were cherry picking. You would have been better off using Comcast, but then they wouldn't show as great of a loss.

Of all the Sr. EVPs in the company, Christine McCarthy is by far the most competent.
Well she's or someone aligned with her interests is certainly wasting no time in leaking that she was a "lynchpin" to ensuring Iger's return.

She will be rewarded by the new CEO with many Dalmatian coats and packs of Virginia Slims...

If absolutely nothing else happens, I'm still happy to have a CEO up there who treats people as humans, and not just as wallets to dip into.

I'm sure we will see more humanity from the top toward the cast members and guests. He's already started by sending his message out to the cast members before the press.
Wait a second…which ceo did they bring back?!? 🤔
