Bob Iger at WDW now ... BoD to Follow?

I've seen that article but it was speculation on part of it. American Idol has closed but Indiana Jones and Stunt Spectacular have remained open and operating. They may close in the future but not yet. I could see Indiana Jones being the last one to close.

They may move these events to the new theatre once it is built by Rockin Roller Coaster.

I hope they do relocate it, especially since it's very popular.

My vote is for the mass hysteria because people want something NEW at WDW so badly, Personally I'm thinking it will be changes which we will not like, I don't doubt that @PhotoDave219 and @WDW1974 have heard some juicy stuff, But just consider for a moment that the tidbits may have been planted to out leakers.

Every earnings call for the last 18 months has given Wall St guidance on how TWDC plans to REDUCE P&R CAPEX, So why would they turn the spending taps on when they told Wall St the opposite???.

Purposeful misinformation? Unlikely given that some of the confirmations I reached out for.

Alas, I have no specifics as to what a SW Land or a Pixar Land actually will entail.

Yeah that's what I'm talking about. Around the time the Backlot shut it was pretty much taken as definite that a Pixar Mini-Land was coming for a few weeks, then those rumours died away. Whatever happened to that? Time and time again, bigwigs come down, or there's a D23, or some other reason for everyone to get excited, then nothing.

But Dave's post gives me reasons to be cheerful, that this time it's more than just wishful thinking, so fingers crossed this isn't yet another damp squib.

Yeah, but remember how hyped we were for "pixar land" with the "big guns" touring DHS?
And in the end, we only heard the rumor of them giving the go ahead to only another queue line and another track for that toy story attraction?

Because those were just executives touring. Thats curious yet no reason to actually get excited... because from there you have WDI do their thing, everyone signs off on a project and if it somehow survives the political infighting, it goes to the Board of Directors for approval and they give it funding. (Then they plant the magic attraction beans and they grow overnight!) Just how the process for major things happen...... AND.... we're actually at the end of that process.

Also, tho I can't speak for yours, mine are pretty obscure sources of info that for many many many years have never steered me wrong.

Don't give Disney too much credit, they don't care THAT much about leaks as to set out false information..too many people to keep tabs on for that to be the case.

why must we focus on and harass peoples' misspelling like you are all english teachers??? Its so petty, especially when you dont even have anything to come back with except that?!? The fact that most people on this board usually are on their phone, and we all love our phones spell check! You know how many times you write a word correctly and the iphone changes it to a completely new word that doesnt even make sense? we all have been there. If you cant come up with something to actually say, even if you dont like what the poster is spewing, at least come back with something of more substance than "omg they mispelled a word! Their opinion cant matter anymore because they spelled a word wrong!"
it was the right/wrong thing...not a bust on spelling...chill

Because they gave Wall Street $110/share. Gotta shore up the foundation under that bubble....

In order to fully capitalize on the IPs they own, they need to further invest in the property and leverage it through vertical integration. :D

I really need a droid who speaks Wall Street to write those translations for me.

Too many tech types on the board, actually. Hence the focus and ok for huge expenditure on magic bands and social media.
Loved the magic band on our trip. Significant enhancement on our enjoyment of our overall trip.

They do need to make an adjustment so that you don't have to be so perfect on placement on the readers but this might be a security feature so they are not easily cloned.

The enhancement I would like is biometrics in place of security pin.

That was an unverified story from a blogger looking for page clicks, from over a year ago. They don't put in the sourcing and vetting of their information that we do.

Anyways, I have no idea what these plans entail. And for all we know, they very well may start construction and have people working under NDAs.

Is there any word on it's future?

Look up 'Canary Trap' it automatically inserts small changes in each copy of a document, Then tracks the document distribution all you need to do is 'match' the error and the leaker is ID'ed automatically.

The original source of the Echo Lake being filled in rumor was Jim Hill, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the plan that was deemed "not ambitious enough". At this point, I don't think anyone has definitively accurate information on the what and where for Star Wars.

Other than it will be at ANAHEIM while the WDW fanboi's fantasize about it being built at DHS...

Honestly I don't feel like Echo Lake serves a huge purpose. You have the quick service restaurants on it but that's about it. With it's location to the deceased Idol and Sounds Dangerous I could see that land being used for other projects.

I really think it serves a huge purpose, that being actually having water in the park to make it not feel as much like a concrete jungle.
