It's entertaining to think you could be talking to a billionaire and have no idea.

Most truly wealthy people are the ones that you'd never have clue of their wealth. You have a society with people that spend a fortune (many of which don't have the money to spend) to put on a show that they are wealthy, but time and again, those with major wealth are indistinguishable from any regular Target shopper. I've met a lot of them and it's not only interesting, but heartening in a way. Money isn't the end all be all for lots of them and they don't live and breathe to impress.... Too bad that the Disney board is like most corporate boards today that are mostly made up of showy executives that run other large corporations.

That seems like it should be fine… Instead of Main Street USA, you have the Golden age of Hollywood on Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard.

And then you explore other movie properties throughout the park. Makes perfect sense to me…

Can we replace the theater though. Maybe with a Mystic Manor type attraction? Original story attraction. Maybe something that ties the park together. The Chinese Theater has nothing to do with Disney. DHS needs a dramatic centerpiece like the other parks.

The park it's in is about Hollywood and the Chinese Theater is about as Hollywood as you can get.

You really wanna take money away from Star Wars and Pixar for THAT? Seriously?

To me, nothing says Hollywood more than Graumann's Chinese Theatre.

I think the issue wasn't the size, as @PhotoDave219 said, it's the ambition. They are two different things. They may mean the same, but ambition to me would mean not a good enough experience to compete with Universal, at least to me. If that's the issue, I frankly don't care how long it takes to build it (but let's be realistic, at least) if they would just officially announce it. I could see the stock rising a bit after that announcement, at least to 120.

Meh, I only gamble with my life. Never with my money.

You're right. I guess my issue with it is...it's not original. They basically recreated something that exists in the world already. The other parks wow with a castle, geodesic sphere, and a giant tree.

A theater is a good concept, but perhaps the architecture should be something unique.

I know it's not a popular opinion.

I get that. But if you wanna go there, the architecture in MK on MSUSA & Fantsyland arent exactly unique either.

No. Star Wars is the priority. :D

Edit: I can't explain why I hate the theater...I just do. Trying to explain it is difficult. DHS has never been a park I've enjoyed though...except for a few attractions over the years.

(I also like the hat)

Wh...

I said "An E-ticket (as we think of them today) would have been a disaster in New Fantasyland. The footpaths in that area are completely overwhelmed as it is. When you're talking about Fantasyland, you want "sponge" attractions to suck up guests, not "magnet" attractions to draw people in."

You said "Someone call the OLC and tell them they're doing it wrong............"
I actually agree with this, but I think New Fantasyland needed at least one more new ride and additional capacity on Mine Train. If they had Mine Train into a true E-ticket, it likely would have needed to be supplemented with an additional C/D-ticket ride with high capacity.

New Fantasyland was originally intended as a capacity boost, and the park still needs more capacity.

Can anyone with facts and figures (attendance numbers, likely price rate increases over time.) answer a question the board would likely ask, which is, how long before we (The BoD) see a profit from this? When do they break even and start profiting from let's say a $2 Billion dollar investment in DHS. If it increases attendance by 20% or 15%, or whatever you think can reasonably be expected, when does all of that new foot traffic and per guest spending pay this expansion off...theoretically of course.

Would anyone say that the $1 Billion invested in DCA has essentially been paid off?

I'm sure the board has all those projections. It's not just a matter of revenue. These are Capital expenditures and will be expensed annually until fully depreciated.

Because a monorail is not on the Board's agenda. Star Wars is. Marvel and Pixar are likely to be as well.

I understand that.

My comment was more observation that, in years past, this type of thread about the studios would inevitably have dozens of questions from newer posters or sarcastic comments from experienced posters about monorail expansion.
