Bob Chapek Confirms Disney Will Overhaul Epcot

There's definitely elements of beauty in EPCOT Center, but there's nothing that would make its atmosphere special in a world where corporate headquarters across the globe are becoming futuristic architectural icons. For example:

To each their own of course, but Wired hates Apple Park.

Communicore looks like many buildings of the era, albeit of a higher caliber execution.

Somehow, I don't think this style of design would go over very well at WDW: https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2018/02/apple-employees-cant-stop-walking-into-glass-walls

Steve Jobs was not a nice guy and there are people in the tech industry or related who have an ax to grind. He was not a man of the people by any means. LOL.
Depending on who you ask. Depending on who you ask Walt Disney wasn't very kind either, but life has taught me a few things and I think it's best not to judge people like Mr. Disney or Mr. Jobs for their perceived character faults and instead focus on the good they brought the world.

Since DAK opening, Epcot has likely been a child's last choice of the 4 parks to go to. It can be viewed as boring, a lot of walking, not many things to do. Perhaps this shift in IP introduction is to make it more appealing to younger kids. Ultimately parents will drive a lot of the families planning.

I wonder what the "per capita" stroller count is at Epcot compared to the other parks. I don't see nearly as many kids at Epcot as other parks. And with all the festivals drawing those of drinking age to the World Showcase, it's no surprise the attendence number still is comparable to DHS, bit with far less kiddos.

Always July and August. I myself noticed wait times in EPCOT Center drop off dramatically through the 80s.
Conversely when I visited in summer 87 and 90 they were huge. Outside switchbacks were the flavour of the day, before you reached the designed queue.

Just goes to show straw poll personal observations are worth diddly squat unless you visit several times a week, every week, every year.

Thus the phrase “I myself noticed.”

They already do that elsewhere.

Hence the MK2.0.

So what other princesses are moving into the World Showcase? I'm still not seeing MK2.0 yet, as it currently stands. IP doesn't make it another Magic Kingdom. I guess the sing-along coming to France ... when they add a Rapunzel ride and reopen Scary Adventures in Germany, I'll call it 2.0 ;) but I do respect your opinion. I just don't quite see it that way... yet.

Unfortunately, what we want is the minority opinion :(

Nothing surprises me anymore.

I think August HAS to be the logical threshold to not cross (right? right?!?). Part of my brain says, 'yes, it makes sense for them to have a 2-3 month window for holiday stuff, due to peoples schedules and them trying to deliver a *special* vacation to their families'. other parts of me see the 'dollar dollar bills ya'll' aspect that disney is taking advantage of....

September 1 was the old logical threshold, but logic has been thrown out the window under Iger and Chapek. There's no line they won't seemingly cross these days, so it wouldn't shock me if Halloween creeps ever closer to August 1 at WDW, and possibly crossing that line someday. Every time you think "They can't do x before y, can they?", they do.

Don't give them any ideas although it is weird seeing Oogie Boogie singing the same song at MNSSHP and Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam.

Brilliant.

And know what the scary thing is? There are many people who would buy into this.

Large scale glazing has been common since the early 60's. Seagram Building was erected in 1958.

Hence the wording “on low story building”. Steel skeletons, curtain walls, and glazing was common on high rises long before it was popular decor for ground level structures
