BLACK PANTHER huge hit!

For all the Pixar fans, WDS fans, Potter fans, and Nintendo fans there are obviously huge Marvel fans that also wanna see their favorite characters come to life in attraction form.

The frustration comes from the fact that Uni is intent in doing nothing to add to their Marvel line up, WDW can't do anything with their mega stars, and DL can't get their act together.

So even for those that hate Marvel, it is and sufficit to say will forever now be Disney and it is my hope one day either Disney will regain all rights or Uni will get the MCU rights and build a proper beefed up Marvel land!

For those complaining about too much Pixar, at least if Disney could use MCU wed have a little more variety

No one who actually understood the contract made the statement.

To be fair to @jt04... there were oodles and oodles of discussions and even an article tearing apart the contract over on the former Universal Orlando/Inside Universal website. Very prominent people there swore up down and sideways that @marni1971 was off his rocker on the GoTG rumours.

So yes no one who actually understood the contract, but a heck of a lot of people thought they did.

Of course now it clearly comes down to: does DHS get a meet and greet?

Whole heartedly agree. It really is too bad because a park like DHS would really be benefiting from both an actual logical place to put that stuff and a higher up cause to want to actually invest in said park for cross pollination.

I don't understand why Universal is so unmotivated to use it either. They have no problem milking another studio's prime asset for everything it is worth. Instead they went with the Tonight Show?

I didn't know a film about penguins being nice and singing/dancing to each other and Animals learning to not judge each other based on their appearances and species was "leftist" propaganda.
Genuinely curious what leftist propaganda you found in Zootopia.
The concept of equality and fairness is extremely frightening to some people. Zootopia’s message is why I consider it to be the best WDAS film in decades, maybe even of all time. Byron Howard and Rich Moore are gods!

Universal iron man/iron Legion attraction is in R&D hell for the past 3-4 years. Its not like they aren't trying, they are working on a revolutionary ride system.

It’s beneficial to Comcast. Why would they change it?
I do not want to debate the contract. However, I do believe Universal has to use the characters in a first rate manner or lose them. All I want Marvel to do is ask Universal to use Black Panther in a first rate manner in Orlando or take therm to arbitration and ask for Black Panther back. This is a reasonable request and something they should do. I think it is what Universal did with the Monorail wrap issue.

I do not want to get into the contract can be broken or ended debate. However, the contract does state that if characters are not used their rights revert bacvk to Marvel. It also states that they must be maintained to high standards. I forget the exact words at this time but you know what the meaning is. Anyway why it is not unreasonable to ask Universal to develop an attraction or at least have a meet and greet for Black Pathether and if Universal refuses go to the arbiter and ask them to force Universal to use Black Panther or lose him.
Indeed. We saw this particular clause with the Spiderman refurb in particular. Maybe they’ll do a M&G.

I was busy last night and unable to respond to the folks going like :bawling: on here. Lucky for y'all, I'm having a bout of insomnia. In my absence, I'm glad someone else posted the above. It's heavy-handed, but it hits all the facts.

Here's another, more balanced critical review that shares my opinion:

'Matt Zoller Seitz of RogerEbert.com, despite generally liking the film (three out of four stars), had trouble with the film's central metaphor that conflicted with its message, stating that "[Zootopia] is constantly asking its characters to look past species stereotypes, and not use species-ist language or repeat hurtful assumptions.... This all seems clever and noble until you realize that all the stereotypes about various animals are to some extent true, in particular the most basic one: carnivores eat herbivores because it's in their nature." He ended his review pointing out that "if [Zootopia] were a bit vaguer, or perhaps dumber and less pleased with itself, it might have been a classic, albeit of a very different, less reputable sort. As-is, it's a goodhearted, handsomely executed film that doesn't add up in the way it wants to."'

No wonder you didn’t like it. You and this reviewer completely missed the point.

Ya think? That’s kind of the point of the whole movie. The point is that some stereotypes may have some truth to them, but you don’t have to let them define who you are. For example:

Judy breaking away from being a carrot farmer to become a cop.

Flash is slow because he’s a sloth, but is able to go fast through use of a sports car

Nick is shifty because he’s a fox, but instead of using it for bad (hustling), he starting using it for good(Convicing Manchas to open the door, fooling Bellwether to make her think he’s gone savage)

carnivores eat herbivores because it's in their nature."
What? Did this person even see the movie? It’s not in their nature. It was due to the synthesized midnicampum holicithias (aka nighthowlers). It was also unfair to judge the predators random savage behavior because some of the most ferocious animals on this planet are actually herbivores (hippo being one of them).
Any more questions have can probably be answered here:

A M&G should be done immediately. After all the whole of licensing characters is to be mutually beneficial to both sides. Marvel wants their IP out there to sell their movies and Universal uses them to gain attendance. Given the number of movie tickets sold Universal should be able to increase their attendance if they started a M&G, even if it were just kids from the Orlando Area. Now if the two companies really cared to do the right thing, they should split the costs and have a M&G free of charge outside the Parks somewhere in Orlando for the general public. I know this will never happen but it should, at least they should at Give Kids the World resort.

Me too...it rides the old Six Flags vibe a little too closely.

Agreed. I'm sure the Universal Brass know that the Marvel area looks dated and cheap. The amount of money they spend on updating Disney's IP here will be our first indicator of their intent to use these characters long term.

I'm sure I'll enjoy the film, as I expect it to be political. I'm ready for it going in.
To be clear, if you were offended by the "politics" of Happy Feet or thought Zootopia was too "leftist", Black Panther will not be a comfortable movie for you to watch. It specifically criticizes people like yourself... and that's one of the reasons it's so popular.
