Biggest fear before you leave for Disney.

DisneyMissy, Pigletismycat, and MinnieGal,

Thanks for the kind thoughts! My Cat, Sam, is 16 and is in severe renal failure, and recently started having seizure-like fits. We don't know how much longer he'll have, but we just want to make the time he has left comfortable. It's just hard, since I've had him since I was a kid. :( We didn't know if we should cancel our trip or not, but over the last day or so he's stabilized enough that we think he'll make it till we get home.

Worrying about a pet, or family member when you go away puts all of the other worries, forgetting toothbrushes and the like, into perspecitve. (IMHO)

Dealing with airport security... I always get hassled... So I always get super nervous before I leave for the airport.

I heard a story a few years ago about a woman carrying a bunch of jewerly in her carry-on, and it going thru security, then someone snatched it at the end and ran with it. I think she was out $1million worth or something like that.

My big paranoia is that same thing, that my bag will get thru secruity before me, and it won't be there at the end. I watch it like a hawk and usually have someone in my party go before and after me, so there is a buffer between me and other parties.

One of mine came true a couple of years ago. I forgot my ticket at home and realized it after 4 hours on the road. Thankfully it was an annual and they were able to locate it in their system.

It sure does put things in perspective. I'm terribly sorry about your cat. We lost our rottweiler to lymphoma less than two months ago. We put her down before her quality of life really went down, which was hard because sometimes she was still 'normal', but you could see it in her eyes sometimes. Knowing that it was incurable made the choice a little easier, but not much.

Here's wishing Sam a few more good months!

I always worry about getting sick or someone in my family dying. I also fret about the dog, and worry that the animal kennel is going to be mean to her or something, even though they never are. I also worry about crowds, and that I won't get to do everything I want.

Let's see...

Forgetting my tickets (I had 3 copies of my ticket confirmation with me in various luggage, just in case)

Using all the space on my memory card (rediculious because I take my 256 mb)

Buying AA Batteries for my camera at the park

Delays in travel, like construction etc.

Refurbs and rain....for example...refurb Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, etc.
Rain during Fantasmic and or Illuminations that causes a cancellation. It stormed bad during our first Fantasmic go this trip, we had to come back another evening. Thank God for Park Hopper Passes!

Coming Home :(

We make EXTENSIVE checklists (using the one posted on Allears as a starting point) and go over them several times before we leave. There are too many things (AP, medications, dining discount card, battery recharger for the camera, cords for the laptop, etc) that if left behind could ruin the vacation.

Well this trip I'm worried about...

Hurricaines (Rita and the depressions behind her)
My Cat passing away while we're gone. I'm not looking forward to getting that phone call.

Most of the other worries don't bother me, like lost luggage and the like. I just want my cat to be OK when we get back.:(

I know the feeling. I board my cats and had a few years of worry when my first and best cat was near his end. We have two young females now and I know they're safe at the vet until we return.
This year, my biggest fear was that one of our huge goldfish wouldn't make it until our return (they're about 1 foot long each). We used to board them as well, but couldn't this year. Friends came to the house and took care of them everyday, but I have to be honest and say I still worried. It put a damper on my vacation. I know, I know, they're just fish but if you love your pets.............

Isn't it amazing what you need for your cameras/laptops/etc! I am so worried about leaving something behind for our digital camera, we bought a cheap second one. The first one has a recharagable battery, the second takes normal AA batteries. Then there is the portable DVD player cords to worry about, and if I am really crazy, I bring the digital camcorder too. That takes a whole 'nother bag.....

Forgetting my wallet or losing my license and not being able to get on the plane or have any money on the trip. I panic at least 3 times. Once in the car "where's my wallet" grabbing backpack. Second once we're waiting in line to go through security "did she give me my license back" grabbing backpack. third in MCO after picking up the rental car "did he give me my license back" grabbing backpack. I'm a basket case. :hammer:

Not wanting to cause paranoia here, but I actually left my drivers license at the security check at an airport once. In all the confusion of retrieving keys, shoes, wallet, belt, camera, etc, the drivers license just never got picked up.

Luckily, I realized it was gone when I looked for it before I boarded the airplane. I ran back to the security check, and the guard there still had it. Whew!
